Darwin & Kakadu National Park
I've been away since Sunday 21 in Aus's "top end". Darwin is a grouse place with top notch people. Kakadu & Litchfield National Parks & Katherine Gorge were fantastic.
Met a dozen absolutely fabulous people of all ages and walks of life, and had a blast. Tour guide was one of the grousest people I've ever met. Lots of great sites & sights, heaps of swimming under waterfalls & cruising down croc-infested chasms. The stars at night were something to behold.
Would highly recommend this trip to all Aussies and any OS folk wanting to come to this country.

Departed Darwin at 1.20 am this morning. Was a balmy 20 degrees. Arrived in Sydney at 6.00 am - it was 8. Fark!!!

Retire there. It's got everything Sydney's got except for double digit minimum temps staring with a "1" and ferals with a voice.

Re: Darwin & Kakadu National Park
Darwin struck me as a really friendly big country town. I reckon I could easily live there except for the summer heat and humidity (which would kill me). I reckon I'm more suited to being a Taswegian.

Cool, ETG. I would like to go back. It was lovely at this time of year. Very comfortable. One of the group was a lovely nurse from Hobart, escaping the Tassy winter.
