Very good man. Sad to see him go.
I wonder what role, if any, one G Smith played in the past few months that could have an impact on Polly's final days?

Bad stuff. Still he's played a lot of cricket. Could still easily do a job, as shown in this Test. Now, all I need is for Northants to get the chequebook out and sign him up, to go alongside Boje, Klusener and Hall. I don't mind being the ex-SA all-rounder XI... do a dman sight better than Richard Logan.

Weakens the Jarpies significantly before what I would hope will be a tough tour for them.
We know Ntini is the real deal but are Steyn and Nel consistent enough? Their lack of a quality spinner though is the gaping hole.
Now if only Jaques Kallis would retire...

What a great player he's been. One of the best. Capital G great.
Could have passed 500 wickets and 4,000 runs if he'd played on. What a shame.

Hmm consistant...
Steyn's last 5 series:
- Code:
2006-07 (v Ind) 6 wickets @ 19.00
2006-07 (v Pak) 4 wickets @ 21.75
2007-08 (v Pak) 9 wickets @ 24.66
2007-08 (v NZ) 20 wickets @ 9.20
2007-08 (v WI) 14 wickets @ 22.14
Yee-ep. I think I'd call that consistant.

Aye great player, can't complain really had a long successful career everyone hates to see a great player go but it has to happen one day.
LLL you seen "no country for old men"?, great film dissapointed with the ending though.

Wouldn't be surprised. We'd give him 40,000 and a pork chop for every wicket he takes, you'd give him 100,000 and a blow job from a Hollyoaks extra for every run he scores.

Sad day for cricket. One of my most favourite players of this generation - only after SRT I believe.

He's certainly up there with Tendulkar in the thoroughly inoffensive cricketers stakes.

Aww, I wanted to see the Ginga Ninja wicket taker one last time over here. Hopefully I will if Danny or Baz are correct.

I have absolutely no idea if we are interested in him, but we would be mad not to give it serious thought.

We could have him, that's a much better idea. We could become the perfect repositary for rejected Saffies.....

I'm not sure we could afford him after recruiting Simon Jones to be honest.

Medical bills alone would bankrupt a small country...

Absolutely no idea. If he crocks his knee again - that's it end of career I would imagine. But if by some miracle, he stays fit and bowls something like he did in 2005, we won't see him for dust as he will be back in the England set-up, although that's what we should all be hoping for.
In some ways, it was a curious signing. Mind you the thought of Jonah and Polly bowling together does get the juices flowing a bit!
