Aye, there were some big calls at the right time for the Dogs, but they were still by far the better side. It would've been criminal if they lost.

Bullies got the benefit of the umpiring, but in the end just powered away. The Swans would be disappointed with their execution today, not their effort.

TF Boyd didn't win the NS...if he did, every Number One Pick from here on would be expected to do the same.

Re: AFL 2016
I have mixed feelings about the season. An elevation from 10th to 3rd or 4th is good, and our best football was very good. Our nadir football was poor and we were often poor in first quarters and after a week (or more) off; this was especially evident in finals.
I suspect we may have done better to have lost to Hawthorn in the first week of finals, so as to maintain match fitness for later finals games. A home final as a reward for finishing high might have helped; ah well. Regardless of venue, playing each week of finals didn't seem to hurt the Dogs whereas all teams that 'earned' a week off showed little benefit for it.
There was only one team that the Dogs did not beat at least once this year, and it was the Cats, who prevailed quite convincingly on both occasions that the teams met. So - whilst pleased to finish 3/4 rather than 10 - I am quite disappointed that we saved one of our worst quarters of the whole year for Q1 of our preliminary final v Sydney.

Re: AFL 2016
Fair call. Feel a bit the same about South. Given the wholesale renewal and lots of newbies, we did well to feature in the finals. The convincing wins against the cats and crows were great. The granny was a bitter pill, but at least we were there. All credit to the puppies who had a comprehensive win.
McGlynn and McVeigh should go. Mitchell will go to the gold coast or dawks, giving us another first round pick. Heeney will be a fixture in the mids.mills will go into the mids too but will play mainly forward.
Hopefully the five reco johnno will play a bit down back. Reid will hopefully be fit enough to tempt the scum into a trade. Plenty of talent in the twos - Newman, Foote and ORiordan.
The kids will improve.
