Tennis 'match-fixing'!

Not good news on the first day of the Aussie Open. Some allegedly involved are still playing today. Russian and Italian betting organisations suspected.

Huzzah!!
"Former women’s World No One tennis star Maria Sharapova has been banned from professional tennis for two years, after failing a drug test following the Australian Open in January.
The Russian says she “cannot accept” the “unfairly harsh” ban, which has been backdated to January 26, and plans to appeal.
Ms Sharapova tested positive for Meldonium, a heart disease drug that helps improve blood circulation, after her quarter-final loss to Serena Williams."

Will it stick?

Well as she's gone from heart problems to diabetes and apart from her dealer no-one else knew, let's hope so.

How big a prick is Kyrgios?? After winning in Japan there was hope that he'd turned a corner in the attitude stakes. But overnight he has tanked deluxe in the Shanghai Masters. When taken to task by the press he responded "I dont ask them to come watch. If you dont like it, leave". What a cock munching shit bag!! Er, by paying their money they've earned the right to demand some effort, you qunt.
What a farkin disgrace for an Australian "sports"man he is.

Re: Tennis 'match-fixing'!
The ATP should put a ban on him for unprofessional behavior. He can then watch while his sponsors walk out the door.

Re: Tennis 'match-fixing'!
Yet again he escapes a ban and is slapped with a (comparatively) small fine of around $20,000.
Is the ATP even weaker than the ICC? How many strikes from this idiot does it take before the ATP says enough is enough? Clearly not even trying to win points or games in my opinion is no different to match fixing. Who knows...perhaps it IS match fixing? Imagine if an international cricketer just backed away and allowed a bowler to bowl him before happily walking off. There would be outrage and a massive investigation.

Hard to disagree, Trev. $22K for a multi-millionaire brat is small change.

He has been given an 8 tournament week ban although that will be reduced to 3 weeks if he agrees to seeing a sports psychologist.

He's such a knob he will resist seeing a sports psychologist.
In any case, it's a dead time of year. He needed to be banned from the Aust Open to make any difference.
