What car do you drive?
Currently carless and just wondered what everyone drives. For inspiration.

Can't believe this has never been asked in all these years by the way.

Re: What car do you drive?
I drive two pairs of feet. In my defence:
1. My mrs drives a car and works round the corner from a site I work at two days a week, so get lifts then.
2. I'm always drunk.
3. Every place I want to go (the pub / the club) is within 5-10 minutes walk from my house. For I am an urban cowboy to say the least. NN1 baby. Booka.
p.s. she drives some old Focus.

See, I'd like to try a second hand mini but people keep telling me it's a girls car. Do you have any thoughts on this.

Mehyeah it's sort of girlish, it's a nice drive though apparently. The heart wants what it wants. Go for gold. I've seen dudes driving them.
Re: What car do you drive?
Proud non-driver.
If you'd ever seen me playing Mario Kart, you'd think it for the best.

Re: What car do you drive?
Mitsubishi Magna from 1995, heap of shit manual station wagon "tip car"; and a Honda SUV work car, which is easy to drive and can get me to some otherwise relatively inaccessible places on the weekend.
Nothing wrong with an original Mini; but not those overgrown recent mock-ups.

Re: What car do you drive?
For just knocking about I use a Lamborghini Huracán LP 620-2 Super Trofeo (just the standards specs, I'm afraid). I know, I know .... but in the end, the Testarossa F512 M just got a bit long in the tooth, and proved a tad pricey to keep at its absolute best. So I had to draw in my horns a bit.
My other car is an M1 Abrams, for off road use mainly. But I'm thinking of upgrading. It's not nearly as invulnerable as the glossy advertising said - heap of shit, basically.

I have a family so these silly McLarens and Ferraris are highly impractical. Â Afraid it's just a boring old station wagon for us.

There are some non-girly ones like the JCW. The paint job is the main determinant of girliness.

Re: What car do you drive?
Minis are magic. It was hilarious watching them run figure 8s round the Monaros at Calder or Sandown Park. Supercharged as hell of course, but all the same....A Mini was also the first car I remember my old man driving when I was a little tacker. About 20 years ago, just before they started making the mock-ups, I had to be talked out of buying one (because parts cost a fortune).
The Minis should also have won an Oscar for The Italian Job. IIRC a Mini won the BP Rally in the mid 60s - I used to have the souvenir Corgi set to prove it, with the Mini painted that classic/God-awful 'british racing green'. Dad's Mini was the same color. There was also a sky blue Citroen, with that very distinctive Citroen shape, that made it look about as aerodynamic as a house-brick. (Isn't 'Citroen' a Germanised spelling of the French word for 'lemon'?)
(Currently I have a Hyundai Getz, which is only just bigger than a Mini.)

Luxury sports cars, phuurrrtt! Over rated. Too noisy, lousy handling, can never get them in the right colour.

I call bullshit. No way known you'd let your (why do you ask) 2 dogs farking into an Aston RBJ. Still got the CX-9 with doggie skid marks?

Re: What car do you drive?
I saw a review of one of the Mazda highish end sports cars once. Reviewer raved about it. Great handling, performance, comfort. Outdid some of the more expensive models in most respects. But as he said at the end of the day if you're talking about your luxury sports car down the pubs to your mates there still comes the awkward moment when you've got to mention the word "Mazda".

Nevermind MrK. When you are 65 and your kids are all grown up, you can shout yourself the Aston.

Fark that, that's over 20 years away.
Wouldn't get an Aston anyway. Would probably go with an AMG.

Prius - fark that.
And a Landcruiser is not very Mosman. I did test drive the V8 Merc GL the other day though.

Re: What car do you drive?
I'm glad you all like Minis. I heard they handle like go-karts, which sounds fun. Couldn't afford the repairs on a classic one but might try and get one of the older BMW minis. Black, hopefully.
Also thought some of you rich people would have super cars but it's all been very practical so far!

Re: What car do you drive?
Minis are absolute fun cars to drive... BUT ... the older models,
not so much the fashionista-girlie-driven newer BMW productions.
Owned 3 during my youf, including a Cooper ... great cars.
Now have a Citroen C5 Auto Diesel.... which Boris is now trying to
impose a tax on (diesel cars) when entering London - 10 years after saying
that diesels were the best thing since sliced bread!
