Does anyone know what has happened to Barnaby's face?
Looks like the pig was alive. Cameron, embee and other old school tories don't make those rookie errors.

I'd been wondering myself, hope they got it.
Skin cancer's the only thing that really scares me even though my liver and lungs are racing each other to the end at the mo.

Re: Aus Federal Politics thread (XII)
Anyone have thoughts on the Plebiscite outcome? Seems to me that the Pinkos are simply being bloody minded in not supporting it. Blues went to the Election with the Plebiscite as a promise, Labor didn't. Blues won, so attempt to enact the promise, Pinkos block it and try to blame the Blues for failure to get a decision re: gay marriage.
Personally I don't give a fark about the whole gay marriage thing. But I would support it if asked. But for the Pinks to just kill the whole thing because they can seems farking stoopid to me. And allegedly on the grounds of saving $150 Mill or so, after they plummeted Aus into massive debt in their abortive 6 years in power. Qunts.

Oz survived the gfc because of the ALP.
Brownies have dumped the super changes they had a mandate for....personally I think the gay marriage stuff incorrectly emphasises marriage - a blight on the escutcheon -in my view.
Truffles problem is that he would like a free vote but various religious nutbags in the Brownies inc the country party faction have said they would leave the coalition.

Meanwhile, the spiritual leader of the Brownies - the MM - is whining about leaking from the Party room about the Poodle slapped him down. Hilarious. The MM is as thick as the scabs on Scabby Joyce's face.

The ALP and Greens have a lot to answer for. The LNP at least have moved their position of "no SSM" to one where they are willing to be bound by a plebiscite. The ALP is denying the vote solely for political reasons while the Greens are doing their usual "we prefer 0% to 90" approach.

Re: Aus Federal Politics thread (XII)
A plebiscite yes result would result in the Brownies introducing legislation- not voting for it.
Several ultras- Erica Nazi, Pope Bernardi, George Muzzison et al will not vote for it and can be expected to seek lib opposition to any bill.

Bernardo has said he would vote for it. And in any case, that's just 3. The change would pass overwhelmingly.

Wow it's become a political football with outrageous hypocrisy on both sides. Who'd have thought.
Frankly getting rid of the marriage act would be best. Most if not all legislation doesn't discriminate between marriage and de facto. I've only got a kangaroo marriage but I guarantee if I run off with a barmaid Mrs qmy would be able to smoke me back to poverty.
Get married in a church or not, church doesn't want to marry you find another church or preferably some kind of reality check.

Bob Day quits the Senate. Presumably some other Family First religious zealot will take his place. Not sure what's triggered it but there is a lot of talk about his private business having massive problems.

Family First senator Bob Day has resigned from the upper house, it has been reported.
The Advertiser says the South Australian senator has stepped down in the wake of his Home Australia group of companies going into liquidation.
Comment was being sought from Senator Day's office.
The ABC quoted Senator Day as saying: "It has been a privilege, but would be untenable to stay in parliament. I will start again and repay all debts."
Senator Day has been on a leave of absence for "personal reasons" and has only been in parliament for three of the sitting days since it returned after the election.

According to AEC records 2 people had their names marked off for voting 11 times at the last election
More than 18000 names marked off more than once
Would explain why the pinkos and one nation did so well

I wouldn't laugh too much about Day's replacement. Conroy's is likely to be indicted

And the ALP is a grassroots driven organisation! Her husband's an undischarged bankrupt, she's just got out of it, Heydon wants a piece of her and Daddy-in-law is or has been in bed with some really awful people.
a woman who wouldn't get a vote for dog-catcher can cruise into the senate for six farking years. If it wasn't for leyonhelm, Conroy would go past Christensen back ontot he top of the qunt list.

It is a bizarre selection by Shorten given the battle over the ABCC that's starting up again.
