West Indies v India, 1st Test, North Sound, 21-25 July, 2016
This needs to be discussed.
I didn't know Jerome Taylor had retired from test cricket.
............. and the Windies have dropped Ramdin. That is a surprise.

No doubt it will be played on a slow, low deck that will do nothing to promote test cricket.

Pitches that Aussie batsmen can't handle aren't slow, low decks that are bad for test cricket, horrie. They're called "Pitches that aren't complete roads".

His middle name's Qunt. As is his surname. But there's a hyphen sepaating the two.

I hate watching cricket in the West Indies these days. I can barely bring myself to do it. Shit slow low pitches, shit crowds in shit, soul-less stadiums, and a shit West Indies team.
Can't they at least play tests in the Antigua Recreation Ground again, and have the shorter stuff at the Viv Richards Stadium at North Sound? The ARG might be run down, but there was aways an electric atmosphere there, and it's located in the centre of St John's, so people actually went there to watch games.

Two lop-sided test matches. Agree about the soulless stadia. This is the WC legacy. The people used to go to the central grounds and the atmosphere was great.

I actually think the problem was more with the Windies bowling and some dreadful captaincy from Holder, rather than their batting so much. The pitch wasn't actually as flat as India's first innings would have you believe. The Windies just bowled poorly and Holder made a lamentable decision to not take the new ball straight away at the end of day 1.

West Indies making the case for two division test cricket. I'm completely against it, but such matches aren't helpful.
Hopefully, they're better in the coming matches.

They could start by helping themselves. Their Board needs to be sacked and a positive relationship re-established with senior players, then maybe they'll pick their best side.

To be fair, it's a two way thing. The players nearly brought the board down. If the bcci continued legal proceedings against the WICB over the tour cancelled midway through by the players, they'd very possibly be bankrupt.
