Australia v Pakistan, 1st Test, Brisbane, 15-19 December, 2016
Australia's Adelaide squad v SA is unchanged for Brisbane.
Drinks waiter - Bird, Sayers, or Lyon? Might they even risk omitting Maddinson?

The Gabba is Elmer's best ground. He plays.
Hard to see why they'd drop Bird after Adelaide.

I agree with you on both counts, but there is a lot of media pressure behind Biscuits.

How much does the Cricket Australia XI management have on this game?
3/4 - this is some great banter. It really is.

Late afternoon and evening is a great venue. Not so great (I'd imagine) during the first session. Temperature yesterday did not reflect the heat and humidity.
Left straight after the match and raced to a TAB. I know they're a development side and the Paks didn't exactly set the world on fire with their batting, but I wouldn't want to be the Oz batsmen at night if the weather in Brisbane mirrors Cairns yesterday.

Half your luck. First summer for a while that I will not be in Cairns at all. Will miss the Brisbane Test by 5 days too, even if it goes full distance. Bad organisation.

Apart from Adelaide, which I go to more often than not, Brisbane is the one I try not to miss. If only for the fact it's the best ground for smokers.

I just can't see Pakistan making enough runs to put up a challenge.

They may need a favourable toss in dodgy weather.

I should be there in a box. My 'seat' will have been readily snapped up by now. Next year, Ashes, will be there with bells on.

I note Starc has said Mickey the wasp was a nice guy as a coach. However he noted the team is united now as opposed to the disunity during Arthur's tenure. The implication is he was a force of division.
The Stannies have the most talented team in test cricket and they have had a captain who is light years ahead of the next best. Mick the Wasp has lucked into a cushy job of Buchanen proportions.
Am still curious as to how he got citizenship.

This Test will get down to who of each team's batting "stars" can outperform the other. If GCS and Tweek outplay Miserable and YK then we might come out on top. Can't help but feel that this will be a 3 day/night Test.
