Australia v Pakistan, 2nd Test, Melbourne, 26-30 December, 2016
Australia keep the squad from Brisbane and add Cartwright.
Pakistan likely to omit Rahat Ali

Not a good sign for M Marsh's future.
And I am very worried what they are thinking re Wade who performed abysmally in Brisbane.

The Waspies are bottom of the ladder for good reason...they have talent which the admin cannot develop.
Still I wish young Hoss well if he gets a go.

Questionable selection.
330 runs at 36.66 and four wickets @ 74.75 in five Sheffield Shield games for the Warriors this summer.
Figures are not worthy of selection as an allrounder i would have thought but then again, he only has to beat M Marsh.

You can smell the gnome in this selection.

Wonder what Faulkner thinks.
Even Henriques has better claims.

The God botherer probably has one of the best allrounder averages this season. Boof & Howard probably think he is too old such is the idiotic mindset of Australia's management. They still don't seem to understand that the test side is not a developmental side & the best layers should be selected, regardless of age.

He probably means Christian.
But you can't have Christian and Lyon in the same arena.

Agree Fork should be greatly offended, as should mytyt and Stoinis.
Of course he should be ahead of Reeks ffs and Mere. Any district cricketer who can bat and bowl a bit should be cranky. They are all ahead of mere and Reeks ffs.

Looks like a heinous ranga bushranger ATM.
And thank fark Reeks didn't get the allrounder spot that Tweek wants filled. But I reiterate - Cartwright????!!!!! Fork would have to be aggrieved.

Horrie, can you tell us Stoinis' stats in First class cricket this season?

Agree he is not having a good season. Had an interrupted start. However he is a good batsman and a decent quick. Even Hoss says he has not been bowling well.

Always Pete.
Everyone will wish Hoss the best.
However the need is for a fifth bowler and Hoss by his own admission is bowling carp.
Fork must have really blotted his copybook with the NSP. We know he enraged the spivs and Reeks ffs when he did not take the offer of a draw. He is the best bowler around who has some claims with the bat.

Wonder too whether Sayers will get his cap. Haze would be the candidate to replace.
Likely to be warm. The G is not great these days for swing bowlers but should suit the wily Bird.
The ongoing absence of a reliable spinner who can take wickets and/or tie up an end continues to apply pressure on the quicks. This is particularly the case on the fourth or fifth day. Surely it is time to give someone else a turn (as it were).
Lyon's complete reliance on bounce means he will again be a liability on Bannie pitches.

It seems that it was the NLWL who swayed his selection. FFS! Play five frontline bowlers and hope you don't need them to wag.
Either that or a captain who has a clue. A WK who can. Maybe a second spinner.
