Re: Trivia 2017
Both England and Aus managed 200+ partnerships for the same wicket (5th) in the recent 3rd Test in Perth:
Eng (403/1st) Aus (549-4/2nd), Perth, 2017-18
Eng – 237/5th wkt; #5 DJ Malan 140/#6 JM Bairstow 119
Aus – 301/5th wkt; #4 SPS Smith 239/#6 MR Marsh 181
This has occurred 7 times in Tests. However, only once has the one team managed a 200+ partnership for the same wicket in each innings. When?

Nah. They added 264 in I1 but Crappelli added 141 with Redpath then 88 with GSC in I2 of 1st Test at Wellington in 1974.

Re: Trivia 2017
Here's a search and destroy one.
In the recent 3rd Ashes Test in Perth, Malan and Bairstow put on 237 for the 5th wicket in an innings loss. This is the highest ever partnership in an innings loss and only the 2nd instance of a 200+ stand in a match where the pair's side loss by an innings.
When was the other 200+ stand in an innings loss?
200+ stand in an innings loss:
237 runs/5th wkt/1st inns – DJ Malan 140/JM Bairstow 119 - Eng (403 & 218) lost to Aus (662-9d), Perth, 2017-18

Re: Trivia 2017
Ah, Hadlee's match - thanks for reminding me.
I seem to recall that was Mo's first ton, brought up with a 6 and then a bit of a cha cha. Meanwhile, AB was as grouse as grouse can be.

Aye. And he also took the catch of the season to dismiss John Reid for 108 to break a big stand between him and Martin Crowe (188).
AB almost single-handedly carrying the Aus side in the grim mid-80s.
