Finally NZ are out.
23 overs left today ... another 96 tomorrow to make up for rain.

Interesting betting here, Bang. is effectively 0/74, but is forty-one for the win, NZ is four.
Bangers haven't shown Pakistan like tendencies lately so perhaps the kiwis are too short in the betting.

This is a worry. Bangladesh are only two down but another two of their batsmen are injured.

Plenty of rain expected in the Christchurch test so if anyone wins this, they probably win the series

Re: New Zealand v Bangladesh, 1st Test, Wellington, 12-16 January, 2017
42.5
Southee to Mushfiqur Rahim, no run, 135.4ks short ball, clatters into the helmet of Mushfiq. He collapses in pain. Skiddy lifter, he looks away, takes his eyes off the ball, and is struck flush on the back of the helmet. Mushfiq misjudged the bounce here. NZ's players show concern for Mushfiq; Tamim also runs into the field to check on his team-mate. An ambulance enters the field, Mushfiq is stretchered off
Hope he is okay.

MIshfiqur and Kayes having both retired hurt, which is their keeper and backup keeper, yikes.
I assume they'll hobble back out if required.

Bangers could be plummetting to a remarkable defeat - after making 595!!!! In fact, that would be a Test record, surpassing the 586 Aus made v Eng at Sydney in 1894-95, when the Poms won by 10 runs.

It would also be another in the ignomious "declared but lost" list.

Shit, 8 down, Mushfiqur has been cleared at the hospital, but not discharged, someone call an uber. Even if he can just block up one end it will chew up vital overs.

Crazy play by Sabbir. Just made an excellent fighting 50 and throws it away with a wild swipe. Weird stuff. Bangers on the brink here.

Seems Kayes can't run ... but not using a runner? Be hard to keep strike.

New Zealand have to be the luckiest team in the world. They are probably going to win this only because two Bangladesh have been injured.

Could have been the fatal mistake. Needed to at least stay in long enough for Mushfiqur to arrive back from hospital.

And they are using Sabbir as their backup backup keeper.
Not sure whether he has kept before.

Said it before: there was no point in the declaration. Bat while the batting is good. That extra 20-30 runs could have helped right now.

Mehedi Hasan Miraz, who toiled long without reward in the first innings, now has the scalps of both the openers.

Deary me, you silly Bangers. All over Red Rover after making 595-8 dec in their 1st innings. 2 new records. Highest innings to lose and highest declared innings to lose.

Gutting.
In fairness, they had some bad luck. It's disruptive to lose your captain to injury, who is also your keeper, then to lose an open batsman who is also your backup captain and backup keeper.

Very, very lucky win.
But then, the kiwis always seem to have a lot of luck.
If those players weren't injured, Bangladesh would still be batting right now.
Moral victory to Bangladesh.
