##Delhi Vs Mumbai, Ranji Trophy Final##
UP scored 7/292 at the end of day 1.
Both Raina and Kaif flopped with Tanmay and Shukla holding fort for UP.

Re: ##Delhi Vs Mumbai, Ranji Trophy Final##
Windup like this would have hurt a season or two back. Not anymore though.
Mumbai Cricket R.I.P
It was good while it lasted. Players like Mhambrey, Powar, Kulkarni, Bahutule, Agarkar, Paranjape, Mazumdar and Kambli kept the torch up for a long time purely on passion and commitment. That zeal and love for representing Mumbai is missing in he current lot. A coach cannot bring out that desire that playing for Mumbai generated among the earlier generations. The youngsters have left the history way behind and have no roots there. The existing seniors have nothing more left to give anymore and are at the end of the line where their careers are concerned.
Sad but true.

lol, turn it up. we won the ranji last year with the juniors and didnt lose a match this year. a 1st innings lead here and there and we would be in the semis and maybe the finals. as a complete unit there are not many teams that can compete against us consistently
the ranji points system needs a revamp. too many draws and too many teams just playing for 1st innings

Batting out draws in 4 day games is not too difficult. Batting in first innings is always the key against fresh pitches and bowlers in Ranji, given the first innings points premium. If they couldn't get leads in enough, means they didn't do consistantly well in that area. From there they can only hope for draws and nort wins. Can you look back and tell me how many of those games could have been won or lost this season if they had been 5 day engagements? That could give us a more objective picture perhaps.

I was watching the match alongside the Perth test, UP had a great chance to absolutely finish Delhi off in the first innings. Praveen Kumar really bowling well.

So UP needs to get a first innings lead merely to win now? A result looks unlikely unless Delhi fail twice.

Delhi on the verge of winning their seventh Ranji title. 125 runs needed with 9 wickets remaining.
The new left armer Sangwan running through UP in the 2nd innings. Only Raina held UP up.

Delhi wins their first Ranji title in 16 years, Gambhir makes excellent 130* in their run chase.
