Currently Mumbai innings is in complete doldrums (4/55) with Tendulkar just dismissed for a duck, who previously hit 4 100s in 5 Ranji finals he played, with 5th final producing an innings of 96 in '91 final.
Good to see bowlers getting some help from the pitch.

Re: ##Ranji Final, Mumbai Vs UP, Hyderabad##
he still has an innings to go
rahane's lbw was one of the worst decisions i have seen. pitching at least a foot outside off
at least this match is a lot more interesting than the semis. would still back us to win this

they should practice non biasness in domestic cricket because in ODIs they still use local umpires.horace wrote:for the finals does the BCCI bring in neutral umpires?

true...they have always needed plenty of work to smooth out the bias...maybe one way banindia can restore a shred of credibility would be to invite neutral os umpired into their jamodis and T20s

PAK tried that during the 05 series vs ENG
i think PAK were the first country to come up with the idea of neutral umps.

it is a bit sad for umps as they are unable to officiate in internationals at home...time for banindia to show some initiative and lead by example

UP seems like a young and exciting team while Bombay is very experienced
Keeping that in mind i will be rooting for UP
....also hope that the M Nissar trophy isn't disturbed

You should've been smart enough to ignore this creature and not reply to any of his silly comments. He is bitter towards India since that Ind-Aus series.

Kaif seems to be going from bad to worse. From being alramingly close to a place in Indian XI against Australia 2-3 months back, he is nowhere near to selection in Indian team for any form of the game.

Rohit Sharma also survived a close run out chance just before that drop.

Re: ##Ranji Final, Mumbai Vs UP, Hyderabad##
Wow! You guys did not follow the game after lunch?
It was a tremendous session with both Sharma and Nayar taking on the UP bowlers. Sharma took a lot of risks, most of which payed here. Pitch was offering quite a bit of help to seam bowlers and hence aggression seemed the best way of defence. Still if he'd have been caught earlier, he'd have looked really foolish! But fortune favoured the brave here and Rohit rode on his luck.
Most of his fours were really beautiful to watch. Nayar struggled quite a bit earlier on but but hung around and then scored in heaps. He was again given out LBW when the ball seemed to be going down the leg. Even then it was a very courageous knock under pressure. Rohit and Nayar shared a parnership of 207 and were separated by the new ball.
Agarkar also played well after Bahutule's fall and didn't let UP have another wicket till stumps.
It was an exciting day with runs scored quickly and bowlers taking wickets too. Praveen Kumar was disappointing as he failed to get his line right throughout the inning and RP Singh struggled badly too.Piyush was equally ineffective.
So basically it was Mumbai vs Bhuvaneshwar Kumar despite Kaif who dropped two sitters in slip.

This innings has re-established Rohit as the next batsman in line for the Indian middle order. Unlike Pujara and Rahane, he has turned it on in a really big match on a difficult pitch.
