More seriously, Australia may be big, but families are scattered, and people often move states for all sorts of reasons. Before the 1970s it was relatively rare to have players move states, and especially rare to have players to have played for three states (I think GD Watson and Gary Cosier were the first of these players) ... but it's increasingly common now to see players who've played for 2 and even 3 states. As far as I know there has not yet been a player to have played for 4 states.

If I recall correctly, in the first few weeks of World Series Graeme Watson also played grade cricket in Brisbane with an eye on the State side, before joining WSC as a part-timer just before that Christmas....that could have been as close as anybody has gone to playing for 4 states.

Still, playing for half the teams in a competition must be some sort of record....makes Dale Kickett (5 out of 15 AFL clubs at the time he joined the fifth) look like a stay-at-home.
