Queensland finished the Shield season 7.45 pts ahead of Tasmania. An outright victory is only worth 6 pts so the Bulls would have still finished on top even if the WA game had finished in a draw.

stop using facts Wally
obviously the wozzies should have won and not lost a wicket which would have put the tozzies .05 points ahead

Wasn’t that dire WA collapse also contributory to some extra bonus points for QLD? I don’t know how to look back at cumulative points tables but I remember thinking at the time that if Tas won their game, and QLD lost, that we would have leapfrogged you.
No biggie though, I’d have bitten your hand off for the offer just to be be in contention for the final, a few weeks into the season.

I think you might have thought that was the situation prior to the Queensland comeback in the final game in NSW when the dubbers collapsed in their second innings giving the Bulls an unexpected victory.

Perhaps it was then. I should have known the Evil Dubbers were to blame.

It was an excellent season for Queensland. They won 6 games (plus the final) & only lost 1.
The XI that played in the final all had solid seasons.
Burns - 725 runs @ 55
Renshaw - 804 runs @ 44 ... after a terrible first 9 innings.
Lasbuschagne - 795 runs @ 39
Hemphrey - 568 runs @ 43
Heazlett - 405 runs @ 40
Wildermuth - 551 runs @ 34 & 29 wkts @ 27
Peirson - 386 runs @ 27 & top quality glovework
Neser - 294 runs @ 22 & 39 wkts @ 21
Swepson - 225 runs @ 18 & 32 wkts @ 36
Feldman - 173 runs @ 34 & 34 wkts @ 22
Doggett - 28 wkts @ 27
Also noteworthy was the performance of Khawaja who only played in the first three games, all played in bowler friendly conditions. He made 347 runs @ 86 when most batsmen in those matches struggled.

Sound points from WW. From a Vix point of view, we were simply not good enough.
How the bnlg has claims on the national coaching role is a complete mystery, given his abject failure as a first class cricket coach. Yep he is a 'campaigner' in the Big Footy definition of that word and has been unrelenting in his public campaign to get the gig. However I just see one cabal of hubris (spivs) replaced by another Warpies).

Bit late to this one. Well done Qld on another Shield win. Good season for Tassie too, recovering from a few years in the doldrums. Nice to see some emerging talent from both states.

Whilst not as good as QLD, the Tassie GF XI players also did well across the season:
Doolan 555 at 32.64
Silk 566 at 40.42
Bailey 602 at 33.44
Doran 756 at 44.47
Wade 654 at 43.60, 3-13, and 37 catches
Webster 363 at 25.92 and 6 wickets at 48 (probably the weakest link in the end)
Milenko 245 at 30.62 and 14 wickets at 28.07
Fekete 60 at 15 and 22 at 22.95
Rogers 324 at 24.92 and 37 wickets at 18.37
Bird 159 at 17.66 and 37 wickets at 21.81
Rainbird 234 at 19.50 and 35 wickets at 32.31
Gabe Bell's loss was felt hard after he played 6 games, scarcely troubling the scorers (alone in that amongst our tail) but taking 24 wickets at 19.79. He is one to watch. Faulkner vanished up his own cloaca.
