Bad light stuffs any residual theoretical chance of NZ victory.
Essentially, 90-96 overs to survive now.

340 runs in 96 overs is doable if they have wickets in hand. Grandhomme could knock 50 off those off in half a dozen overs if he gets it right. Broad and Jimmy can't bowl all day.

Will be one of the all time great run chases if they manage it. We should win from here really, would be nice as I've forgotten what an overseas test win feels like.

Well, they can always start sticking it two feet outside off stump if he gets going, unlike in JAMODI cricket.JGK wrote:340 runs in 96 overs is doable if they have wickets in hand. Grandhomme could knock 50 off those off in half a dozen overs if he gets it right. Broad and Jimmy can't bowl all day.

Indeed. Draw or an England win are the only two realistic possibilities. Maybe 1 in 20 chance of an NZ win.beamer wrote:Well, they can always start sticking it two feet outside off stump if he gets going, unlike in JAMODI cricket.JGK wrote:340 runs in 96 overs is doable if they have wickets in hand. Centrebet is paying 10.00 for the NZ win which to my mind is not nearly enough.

Woops. 1/42. Chef seems to be channeling Ksnr and has shown how invaluable he is as an all rounder. Either that or by shooting a sheep he is getting in some practice for shooting other animals.

Will this reminder be enough to save his career or is it a case similar to Dizzy's double century?

Well in this test he's been bowling more quickly than I've seen for quite some time. He's talked about getting his wrist position back into a good place. So as long as he keeps a bit of snap he'll keep his place.
The moment he loses his zip (a la Dizzy in Ashes '05) then it's time to go. As an Eng fan seeing Gillespie getting carted round the grounds was a delight - and his stunned, head shaking reastions to getting hit back over his head, over cover etc was even better.
Nice drop Vince.

Couple of early wickets to Sturat puts England in the box seat.

Stoopid Widget had the first two wickets taken by Chef. Now corrected.

Six sheep gone now in something of a procession. Even Wood has a wicket!
This final Jamboree after Five Fruitless months will give Pomgolians some solace and hope. If Stokes avoids porridge and the sticky tape holding Jimmeh together the Poms will be ripe for the Bannie tour.

Geez - 39 overs to bowl in the last session. Surely light will come into it if it goes that long.

Hattrick needed to win.
And Root gets Wagner caught in close.

But then the umps call the end with 2 balls to go. Might need an MB ruling on that but it might have something to do with the fact that the min overs have been bowled and the normal time for stumps has past.
