TBF I think Bancroft might have been someone other than Langer giving the finger to the world. Still Harris may have to wait. Which would be good if it's a greentop.

They both taste like shit. Far from celebrating Vegemite we should confine it to the same dustbin as Foster's, and throw in lamingtons for good measure.

Just brainwashing from an early age. It's like religion. Vegemite kids and all that crap. Feed that shit to a toddler for the first time and see what happens, and basically toddlers will eat shit. Try feeding it to a dog, and dogs eat their own vomit.
It belongs in a medicine cabinet, not a pantry.

lol... I enjoy a bit of vegemite every few weeks
However your earlier comment about Fosters and Lamingtons was spot on.
Safe travels Lardy and Mr K.

Vegemite on toast is an occasional weekend pleasure, and enjoyed on this occasions.
The mere smell of Marmite (or Promite) on toast is enough to churn my guts.
All down to personal preference and early childhood training, perhaps.

But how about giving Buttler the gloves as well and telling Jonny to make some f*cking runs? Bollocks to his feelings. He’s been a passenger in this test team for over a year now.
Did you think the same when he was scoring his recent centuries in the world cup ??

I would guess not, as that wasn’t Test cricket.Bennyfishel wrote:Henry wrote: .

We can’t make allowance for World Cup credit in the bank if players aren’t performing in this format, even if we could maybe have hoped for a bit of the feelgood factor to carry over from those who were involved (instead, it seems more like hangovers). It’s a different game and they have no more divine right to a Test place than a rugby league star switching codes does to a place in the England union side...
Pretty much ever since Bairstow established himself at the top of the ODI order, he’s gone to pieces at the sight of a red ball. But there’s three or four others whose places are equally under threat if they don’t perform at Lord’s. We need to rethink our approach and maybe even get the new coach (and his own choice of captain) in by the end of the series, along with the young players who will aim to win back the Ashes in four years’ time.

What not eighteen months time? Or five weeks time?

It’s a full reboot needed, a four year project I think, like the ODI side was after 2015. There’s no quick fixes on offer, certainly not to compete in Australia within a couple of years. More chance of us hitting rock bottom (of the major nations) as per 1999, although we will probably be able to win a reasonable proportion of home series given how poor most overseas batsmen are against the swinging ball.
Not sure if the raw materials are even there because county cricket scheduling doesn’t allow Test batsmen to develop. The best thing we can do is invest in young players and allow them to develop at the highest level, rather than pick 30-year-olds who have eventually managed a couple of seasons averaging 40 after spending years facing 75mph seamers before Easter and after the schools go back in the autumn...

Predictable changes by England. Anderson & Moeen out Archer & Leach in.

Well I guess I can admire realism linked to a plan. You realise most national boards can't see any further than the current sponsorship deal.

I don't think any of the fringe players how done enough, so unchanged lineup.

I see Leach has been brought in for Moeen to strengthen the batting.
Archer (if fully fit) will strengthen batting and bowling.
Might Curran yet play in place of Denly or Bairstow?
