Didn't his missus just have a baby?

Dean Jones continues to be the dick he always was
"Vision of England star Jofra Archer ruthlessly demolishing a feeble second XI batting line-up may have got Three Lions fans fired up but left one Aussie great fuming.
Archer, who was left out of the crushing first Test defeat to Australia after playing through the pain of a side strain in his country’s successful World Cup campaign, proved his fitness with 6-27 from 12.1 overs against a youthful Gloucestershire second string side.
He then showed his all-round skill belting a century off 84 balls.
Dean Jones, however, took to Twitter on Wednesday morning to label Archer’s participation in the match “bloody dangerous”.
“I am sorry but ECB contracted players should not be playing 2nd XI cricket,” Jones tweeted in response to a video of Archer bouncing a Gloucestershire batsman.
“Never liked it when our guys did it in Australia either with Hazlewood and Starc!”
Jones pointed out the majority of players in the match were under 20 and ill-equipped to deal with someone of Archer’s pace and skill.
“I played county cricket. I captained Derby. I know what guys can do and can’t do,” Jones said."

Big noting himself aside, he does have a point. Jof is several levels above those he was up against.

Hopefully he'll find Aus a big step up from the 2nd XI players.

Unhappily our top order comprises 2nd XI players. I expect the Poms most recent import to have a good debut.
Meanwhile I note Haze took a couple of wickets and Starc one (in an expensive spell), I hope Starc gets a solid work out tonight and finds his range. Given the slope at Lords a fit and in form Starc could prove a handful in combo with Cummins and OP.

Harris was steady at the top of the order over the summer. It is a travesty the prick Bancroft is suddenly seen as the incumbent. Yet more proof cbnlg and co are arseholes.

Bit of a qandry if we lose the next one, Warner fails and Bancroft comes through.

I would be surprised if Warner made a decent score. With his shocking record in England he should not have got a tour.
Heard that CA/cbnlg mouthpiece Lalor describing Bancroft as the incumbent and that it was up to Harris to knock him off. Lalor clearly cannot conceive of the notion that neither Bancroft nor Warner should be there.
I really find it odd that well paid commentators do not actually consider things like Warner's history of failure overseas inc England.

Considerably less. But Lords is coming up. Normally a lay down misere but I think the poms are going to roll the dice.

If Langer had any morals he'd flick Bancroft and reinstate Harris for T2.
