Re: Rugby League 2021
Penrith win puts manly back in the frame. They’ll bear Souths to make the gf.

Re: Rugby League 2021
Penrith's loss to the Bunnies (just WTF was Kikou doing passing the ball into the ground instead of an unmarked player at the death??) has now made their chances of winning the Premiership very difficult.
If I'm not mistaken, they now have to beat the R00ters to then face the Storm in one Qualifying Final.
The other route is Manly to play winner of Parra v Knights then Souths next week.
As MrK says, all this possibly favours the Coastal Filth to make the GF.

Actually I was mistaken.
Manly play the R00ters for a shot at Souths, and Penrith play the winner of Parra v Knights for a shot at the Storm.

Cracking semi this arvo. Parra and Knights smashed each other.
So we have Manly v R00ters on Friday night, then Penrith v Parra on Saturday night.

Impressive win by the Coastal Filth tonight. Turbo was unstoppable.
R00ters finally ran out of puff in a year that they could've easily thrown in the towel early, given all their injuries and suspensions.
Bunnies might be a little nervous about facing this Manly side next week,

Rooters were outclassed but still tried their rings off. A bit like St George without the trying the rings off part.

Ha!!
Kikou wants $800,000 per season minimum. Watch the idiot Drags recruiters waste money soon.

Re: Rugby League 2021
Geez, Manly's record in these finals was:
1. Appalling error-riddled effort v Storm
2 Perfect performance v R00ters
3. Appalling error-riddled effort v Souths
Souths had copious Manly errors and the bounce of the ball lead them to a good victory and a GF spot. If the Filth didn't have those 2 1st Half tries disallowed, it may have been a different story.
Can't see the Choccies troubling the Storm this arvo (but I really hope they do).

Re: Rugby League 2021
Wow, the Storm saved their worst game for their last of the season.
I don't think they made as many errors in the past 10 games combined as they did in this match.
A lot of credit has to go to the Penrith defence though. Only a lucky Munster mis-kick lead to the Panthers' pink wall being breached.
Souths will have to be at their very best to top the Panthers next week.

They'd prefer Melbourne or Brisbane in the GF.

It's like the finals have been played under a different rule book to the home and away reason.

6 new covid cases in Qld (5 in Brissy) today.
With the Brisbane-based GF only 3 days away, lets hope there's not a big spike by Sunday.

Meanwhile, I think the Panthers are specials. They won't get ambushed by Souths twice in a row.

That's my gut feeling.
My middle bro (yeah, that one) is a rabid Bunnies man. He'll either be very nervous or very pissed come start of the GF.

Mrs L is on the Bunnies. Her dad, an ex bunny, died mid-year and she's keen for them to win as some kind of omen.

I have to go for Souths. Penrith may be a bit banged up too.

Re: Rugby League 2021
A highly worthy GF if a little dour.
Congrats to the Panthers. They won the match by controlling possession.
It was like a game of chess. One or two bold moves but largely about strategy.
Nathan Cleary was a clear MoM for me. His kicking game was supreme. He did not give Souths a single opportunity to restart play from the 20 m line after a Penrith 5th tackle at Souths end. His ability to land a high 5th tackle kick in the field of play near the Rabbits' line was amazing. This lead to numerous under the posts restarts from Souths, and it wore them down.
I guess it was a shame Adam Reynolds didn't lock in a fairy tale by converting the last try. But well done to Steven Crighton on a brilliant read for the winning intercept try.
In the end - Souths were brave but Panthers were worthy 2021 NRL Premiers.
