TAYPOC.
I have it on pretty good authority that the extortion allegation is correct.

Well, maybe he was not The Messiah.
Just a ... (etc.)
I wonder what's next to come out, about whom? There may be no one left to play when the revelations of one sort or another, major or minor, are all done. (This is not to excuse headlessness and worse.)

Re: Tim Paine resigns as Captain
Mark Taylor on the radio was as shady as. He was on the CA Board at the time and seemed as much concerned about his own reputation. The then and current Board are a disgrace.
Someone made the point that decades ago TGO was banned from leadership roles on behavioural grounds, inc sexting (not sure phones those days had cameras). Standards have slipped on the old banana skin of corporate governance.
The return of GCSPOC has been inexcusable on multiple grounds.
No doubt the woman is shady (as Lardy and others argue) but so is everyone else.
Ima, the KFC kid, with the cheerful grin, comes across as a complete nob. I very much doubt this was a one off scandal.
He should have retired before last summer but selfishly held on to the job more effectively than he did chances. He leaves the Oz cricket in disgrace.

Paine took six catches on his return to cricket in a second eleven match against SA.

How many did he miss? The test of any keeper is the ones they miss.

None reported. Still the best keeper in Oz imho.
Re: Tim Paine resigns as Captain
None, sorry to disappoint you horrie. Good catches left and right on video, diving forward for one.

Good he took some to his left glove. His movement left (down leg against right hand batsmen) has been suspect and was average last season.
He should have retired last summer. Unfortunately he now has a financial incentive to keep playing as endorsements, books and commentary roles may now be less lucrative in the short term anyways.
Unhappily for George, Ima is his best friend and business partner in a number of concerns. He has undertaken to not involve himself in discussions with the other selectors about whether Ima is picked or not. I do not envy Dodders or the BNLG.
From the play I have seen Phillipe or Peirson are both in good nick with the gloves. Â We need to move on and either of these fellas are suitable.

Amazed you missed the detail that JL will conspicuously NOT be part of that particular think-tank....

Increasingly looking like it will be 2nd (c) and Smudge (vc) leading the team. Both interviewed by CA yesty.

Re: Tim Paine resigns as Captain
That's almost definitely the end of his Test career.
Thanks Ima, for steering us through a dodgy post-sandpapergate period. A less than 50% win record but you brought a bit of stability to the joint. And you retained the Ashes.
On matters of past captains, I see the BBC has given Vawn the flick from upcoming Ashes commentary. Shame, I think he goes well in the box. Then again, 7 may sign him (if they haven't already).

I thought he was having issues with the quarantine requirement (which might have changed since?)

In proof that hair plugs have punctured his brain, Warnie said the following today:
"It would have been great to have seen Mitchell Marsh come back into the Test team, bat at number five and be vice-captain."
Piss off, Warnie, just piss off. Cricketing legend, yes - complete bogan post-cricket, yes.

He’s apparently on the Fox TV coverage which BT have purchased for UK broadcast, which now puts them in a pickle with having to find an alternative commentary source.Nath wrote:skully wrote:That's almost definitely the end of his Test career.
