New Zealand v Bangladesh, 2nd Test, Christchurch, 9-13 January, 2022
Can the Bangers back up to seal an historic series victory?

Snoozers have probably lost their chance of retaining their WTC title already (especially if this is only a 2-match series, haven’t checked…) Hard to see beyond an India-Australia final next time anyway.

It has to be asked.
Has NZ becoming Test Champs cheaped the World Test Championship?
Not trying to be an arsehole. Just on paper, they really look pretty ordinary.

How will Conway sleep tonight on 99*, before facing the first ball tomorrow?
Massive partnership.

Unlike most, they’ve made the best of what they have. Bit of a Leicester City though certainly not 5000-1 odds… it’s not a vintage era of Test sides, particularly in terms of batting and playing away from home. You can only beat what’s put in front of you.skully wrote:It has to be asked.

Having the final in England helped them as it’s the place India tend to struggle most with conditions. They’re unlikely to repeat the achievement, but will always have the honour of being the first.

You can almost bet on it. That will cement him as Test history's greatest minnow basher.

I hope Taylor makes decent runs in his last appearance.

Bad day for Bangladesh. Currently 4/11
To make matters worse, Mushfiqur Rahim & Mahmudul Hasan Joy are not playing in this game. Add that to Tamim, Shakib & Mahmudullah (retired) not playing in the series. So, this is a very weakened Banger batting lineup.
Hopefully they can make it past 26.

An innings and a billion run loss coming up.
Sad that the Bangers faded so badly in this one.

Revenge of the Snoozers. Aggregate scores mean nothing though, still going to be a series draw that won’t do them any favours WTC/ranking-wise…

Ross Taylor finishes his Test career with a wicket. Nice way to bow out.

Well done to Ross Taylor on a decent Test career.
On the other hand, a disappointing effort by the Bangers.
