LOL @ the Yarps. Now 7-93.
They've avoided their worst ever loss (innings and 360 v us at Jo'burg in 2002) but could achieve their 2nd worst (currently innings and 259 v us at PE in 1950).

On paper this looks comfortably the worst SA team during my lifetime.

Good schools in crisis in SA and England.
Watched a bit of the NZ10th wicket partnership.
In the space of 10 minutes poor Rabada had 3 easy chances go down by three Prefect types. Awful. He took it on the chin. He really should have kicked the shit out of them.

Yeah, England-like effort from the Yarps. Just shows how badly India still travel, for supposedly the world’s best team, having lost in SA recently. Probably not that much to choose between India, New Zealand, Australia and Pakistan, on balance.

Pakistan don't belong on that list tbh. They've done nothing of note in tests to be along with the other three. Even Australia's form is boosted by not touring since Covid (and still lost to India B/C).
But eesh... what an awful match. Why go into a test with 0 preparation and a quarantine. Also, why the 3 changes? I know KP2 was injured/ill.

Pakistan can beat anyone on their day and lose to anyone on their day, as always. I think they have as much quality as anyone.
The current situation does make it next to impossible for touring sides, though. Turn up unprepared and the series will be over by the time you’ve even adjusted to the time zone. They’re packing in tours and tournaments, and the quarantine rules mean there’s even less scope for warm-up games.
