Famous Namesakes XI
With apologies for slight spelling variations...
1. Will Young (New Zealand & music)
2. Matt Horne (New Zealand & acting/comedy)
3. James Taylor (England & music)
4. Alistair Campbell (Zimbabwe & UK politics)
5. Steve Davi(e)s (England & snooker)
6. Rod Marsh (Australia & football)
7. Chris Morris (South Africa & comedy)
8. Julius Caesar (Surrey & Roman politics)*
9. Jo(h)n Snow (England & newsreading/Westerosi royalty)
10. Yasir Arafat (Pakistan & Palestinian politics)
11. Chris Martin (New Zealand & music)
*The cricketing Julius Caesar was a round-arm fast bowler of the mid-19th century, due to unfortunately early birth he's the only non-international in my XI. A bit of a long tail here as well... any alternative/better ones?

Actually, I guess Will Smith (Durham and acting/music/martial arts) might add a bit of punch to the top order…

Chris Lewis (talented but bone-headed England all-rounder/talented but hot-headed WCE, or Kiwi surprise Wimbledon finalist 1983)
Kevin Curran (Zimbabwe, sometime Tasmania/Sith Eff tennis player who Lewis beat to set up Wimbledon final cited above). Also KC Sr played for the Zimbos when they were Rhodesia and part of the SA set-up. (Two more KCs (possibly cousins) played AFL simultaneously in the 60s for Richmond and Hawthorn.)

Forget the Jon Snow of fiction. The John Snow of early 19th Century England and the cholera map, the saviour of thousands from the consequences of the unsanitary Broad Street pump deserves a guernsey.
