Bangladesh can certainly find a number 11. Their debutant in this game, Nahid Rana, has played 15 FC matches for 11 runs at an average of 0.84 with a highest score of 4 not out.

On that subject, it is worth mentioning that Khaled Ahmed went into this game with a career total of 13 runs @ 1.00 & responded with an innings of 22. Well done!

For the second time in the match, Sri Lanka have been saved by a huge partnership between Dhananjaya de Silva & Kamindu Mendis, both batsmen scoring a century in each innings.

Some extraordinary stats as a result of Mendis The Younger making his two centuries at 7 and 8 … eg only Bradman has made more runs at 7 or lower in any Test match.

Didnt the Chappells do it in NZ in the early 70s?

Yes, the Chappells did it in Wellington in 1973/74

Also Misbah & Azhar for Pakistan vs Australia in Abu Dhabi in 2014/15

There have also been a few instances of players on opposing teams achieving the feat in the same test. Compton & Morris, Gurusinha & Andrew Jones, Warner & Kohli

That was a poor batting performance by Bangladesh. The Sri Lankan pace attack is nothing special but they rolled them for 188 & 182.

Very poor indeed.
