Aye, he gives my neck hairs a good workout. How did he ever sell a single LP?

Re: Songs that touch you
I hate Phil Collins.
I hate his voice too and his face.
But I like the song and the words.

Re: Songs that touch you
There are lots of songs in this category for me - these are a few:
Refugees - Van der Graaf Generator
The Ship Song - Nick Cave
Walking into Doors - Archie Roach
Boulder to Birmingham - Joan Baez (or EmmyLou Harris)
No Man's Land - Eric Bogle
Once I was - Tim Buckley
Draft Morning - The Byrds
God - John Lennon
And i'm really just a big softy, this one breaks me up every time: -
The Fields of Athenry (Irish Trad - Paddy Reilly's version does it for me)
By a lonely prison wall
I heard a sweet voice calling,
"Danny, they have taken you away.
For you stole Travelian's corn,
That your babes might see the morn,
Now a prison ship lies waiting in the bay."
Fair lie the fields of Athenry
Where once we watched the small freebirds fly.
Our love grew with the spring,
We had dreams and songs to sing
As we wandered through the fields of Athenry.
By a lonely prison wall
I heard a young man calling
"Nothing matters, Jenny, when you're free
Against the famine and the crown,
I rebelled, they ran me down,
Now you must raise our children without me."
Fair lie the fields of Athenry
Where once we watched the small freebirds fly.
Our love grew with the spring,
We had dreams and songs to sing
As we wandered through the fields of Athenry.
On the windswept harbour wall,
She watched the last star rising
As the prison ship sailed out across the sky
But she'll watch and hope and pray,
For her love in Botany Bay
Whilst she is lonely in the fields of Athenry.
Whilst she is lonely in the fields of Athenry.

Re: Songs that touch you
I remember sitting in traffic and listening to The Pubic Hair song (a mate had lent me the tape - yeah, tape). I have never laughed so hard in my life. I think bystanders thought I was having a heart attack.
