Re: Howard's End
For a start - Hockey doesn't have the balls to call LJH john - it would have been:
Mr Howard - Please sir, may I have another.

Was good to see the Libs all basically saying it was the longevity of the government that farked em...not the policies, not the hubris, but the longevity...so basically we all got it wrong by voting em out. Typical born-to-rule liberal mentality.

Apparently Kirribilli is a snottier postcode than Wolstonecraft & that's the foundation of a spiv centrals self-worth assessment.
I'm baffled why Costello, if he coveted the job as much as we think, didn't call for a spill some short time after the lying, murdering rodent renegged on their deal. OK, so Howard's members may have denied him the numbers initially but he gets to slag off the little shit within the Party room & then sits on the back bench waiting for something to break for him.

Costello was/is a gutless twat.
Wanted the position handed to him on a plate. No ticker. Typical Victorian.

I'd bet that's how history will judge him.

A bit like Keating being still in denial.

Only about the gay bit. Other than that, with a little levity for his enormous ego, what he says was how it was.

mudt say i really enjoyed 4c last night ...maybe it was schadenfreude...but the sight of those damaged and dmaging people copping their comeuppance was almost as good as a ritual humiliation of the pomgolian test team

Re: Howard's End
I found the 4c program pretty tame - nothing surprised me on it. Every man and his dog would have known that Cossie would dump on LJH. I thought Michin weazelled as well as ever, Downer was non committal, Andrew Robb didn't say that much and Christopher Pyne desverves a weekend in jail with Big Bubba for being himself.
But where was the real shock in the whole thing?

<<But where was the real shock in the whole thing?>>
only shock was that they were dumber and more craven than I imagined...costello never had the numbers and was loathed by the body politic even more than the LLR..
the only one who seemed to possess a modicum of decency was Hockey

phurt, she's a protestant, tory, lawyer ponts. She once allowed her boyfriend at uni to cup her breast with his hand. She didn't like it, so they went back inside to the sherry and gowns.
And she has freaky non-blinking eyes.

Re: Howard's End
Had to retch today seeing that revolting Connie Hyphen having a go at Kruddy having a "babysitter" for his 14yo son paid for by the taxpayer after 11 years of the little prick maintaining Kirribilli House because his kids wife didn't want to live in Canberra.
Kruddy was quick to say he'd pay for the "babysitter" meaning that eventually when the Tories get back in they will have a much higher accountability benchmark to meet.

The shock was that so many chose to go on public record.
