India went on to win the test after routing Aust for under 100 in the 4th innings.

The team manager met them at the fence ...slapped Sunny around the ears ...send Chauhan and the new batsman back out there ...Oz had one of their infamous collapses on the last day and lost the Test

Growing up in Darwin, I never got to see him live. The only live test I attended before he retired was SCG 1982/3 when he was injured.

I saw a fair bit of him on TV but don't really recall much pre WSC. For a budding cricket tragic in primary school, he was the greatest figure from the era (followed by Viv and then GSC and Swampy).

Funnily enough, one of my main memories of him (on top of the gold chain, the sweat band, the mighty appeal etc, was how his bald patch got bigger each summer).
