In think he's actually Welsh. Names Alan Watkins, used to work on Welsh Tv coverage of Glammy
Wilkins. Used to be a medium pacer for some county.

Thats it Alan Wilkins!

Alan Wilkins was a member of the Glamorgan side which played in the 1977 Gillette Cup Final against Middlesex at Lord`s.
His lively left-arm seam bowling also played a key role in Glamorgan`s progress to their first final of a one-day
competition at Lord`s. In the quarter-final against Surrey, he returned figures of 12-3-33-2, whilst in the semi-final
against Leicestershire at Swansea, his figures were 12-5-34-2. 1977 also proved to be his most productive season in
first-class cricket for Glamorgan, with Wilkins taking 47 wickets, including five wicket hauls against Hampshire at
Portsmouth and Worcestershire at New Road.
At the end of the 1979 season Wilkins moved across the Severn Estuary to join Gloucestershire.
He made his debut for them in 1980, and took a career best 8/57 against Lancashire at Old Trafford in 1981.
Wilkins spent much of 1982 on the sidelines, before returning to Glamorgan in 1983. He added a further 12 first-class
wickets to his tally, and then retired from county cricket and emigrated to South Africa to start a new career in
broadcasting. He returned to Wales in 1989 and has subsequently become a familiar face and voice on radio and television
in this country.(Submitted by Andrew Hignell - June 2000)

Just so we're up to speed like....

I thought Allan D was back there for a second...

That's a bit analytical and sensible for this forum.

I make Afridi's points tally in the cricinfo league to be 216 today. More if he's named MOM. Nice.

Only 38 in Cricket Web though.

Kind of . . . batstink likes to put his special spin on things . . .

Umar Gul on a hat-trick!

I'll try and persuade AD to return, did email last night. He's a decent posh English gentleman, no big oaf like some.

2in2. John Blain... a batsman... pull the other one.

p.s. is 'the other one' allowed? I mean, 'one' means 'leg' in this context but someone could miscontrue it as something more sexual. And also, I've said he's not a batsman? Is that allowed or will Blain take offence?
