Re: Domestic movements for 2008/09
I didn't realise Rogers was having a sook over Perth way - so it says here.
"THREE states are locked in a battle to secure Chris Rogers for next cricket season after the opening batsman quit Western Australia in a bitter split.
Queensland, South Australia and Victoria have all made offers to Rogers, 30, who made his Test debut in Perth in January against India and must now decide where to pursue his goal of getting back into the Australian side.
Rogers admitted he was aggrieved at being continually left out of the Warriors' one-day side last summer while seeking a national call-up, on top of being overlooked for state captaincy and vice-captaincy.
But WA coach Tom Moody hit back, saying he had been told by Australian chairman of selectors Andrew Hilditch that Rogers was not being considered for the national one-day side and Moody believed Rogers was unlikely to earn the captaincy at either Queensland or Victoria."

He'll be opening the batting, opening the bowling, keeping wicket AND captain at the Sozzies.

Just heard that he is going to Victoria.
Just look what a successful domestic season did to help all those Vixen into the national team.

Also, Damo Wright is going to Victoria.
WTF will Tozzie do without their two main men?
Hilfy & Geeves have both been approached by Qld. Bailey has been approached by SA as a possible captain & Dawson has been approached by NSW however the TCA are confident Tas will retain all their players.
Re: Domestic movements for 2008/09
Blimey, all of a sudden the whole country wants a piece of us. Brown-noses, the lot of 'em, they can bugger off back to their mainland eyries and leave us alone to work out how to win another Shield (some time this century).Big Dog wrote:Hilfy & Geeves have both been approached by Qld. Gives us a great top six. Hopefully it'll solve our top-order crabbing problem too.

Finch might not be ready anyway, he hardly scored a run in the second half of the season. Jewell will need to increase his output though, he was mediocre this season.
And aye at Woody.

Re: Domestic movements for 2008/09
Are the Tozzies trying to disperse all their weirdo-named players in an attempt to be taken seriously?
