Ramzan - Month of Fasting

Begins tomorrow, which means the Pakistanis may be playing with an empty belly against India on Friday!

Like this from Plato's Phaedrus:

So no gorging at ifthari (fast end)!

They may not choose to fast. Many don't.

ps the '92 World Cup was won by Pakistan during Ramzan of that year. I believe some of the players were fasting while playing in matches.

I thought you only fasted in daylight hours, that being so there are plenty of night hours to stuff your face in.

Yep, Inzi was relatively thin during that WC.

ramzan can only mean one thing - time to hit mo ali road for some paaya, bheja, malpua, etc!!

During Ramzan, Muslims are also supposed to refrain from bitching, whinging, whining, sooking, grouching, carping, and sulking . . . generally all that we come to expect from Pakistan supporters.

I believe (maybe incorrectly) that Ramzan is decided by teh Islamic lunar calendar, which is about 10+ days shorter than our calender, so it should work it's way through the months and be a little earlier each year until it makes it back to December . . .

I was relatively restrained due to my new honorary status.

However I am a tad peeved that on my first day as an Aussie we got stuffed by the Zimbo's.

Yeah, sorry about that . . . but most Aussies went through the mid 80s when we couldn't win nothin, so keep the chin up champ . . .
