Third ball was an in the slot half volley that swung away late just far enough to give Ian Smith an easy catch ...

Then the theatre and tension as he built to the last ball of the day. Nein was already 40 minutes late for the evening news when he snotted Richard Dawson through point for a ton-raising boundary.

I would've loved to have been there. There was enough electricity in my lounge room to run a small town. Can't imagine what the atmosphere was like at the SCG. I bet they were still buzzing hours later in the pubs surrounding the ground.

I was there skull - easily the best feeling I have had in sports - live or otherwise.

And this immortal piece of commentary that came out of it:

Agnew: "Well, what high drama we have here, Kerry. What will he do?"

O'Keefe: "He'll go for it."

Agnew: "But he could come back tomorrow and wait for a trundler down the leg side."

O'Keefe: "Stuff tomorrow Aggers, tomorrow is for silver medallists. We're Australians. Poms come back tomorrow. Australians only want the gold and we want it now."

Cue Waugh's boundary.

KP's 158 against Aus in 2005 gave me every kind of emotion- The feeling of gloom and doom at the beginning as he had come to the wicket with Mcgrath on a hat trick and Australia smelling blood, incredible nervousness in the early stages of his innings as Brett Lee threw everything at him with KP surviving by the skin of his teeth, and ultimately euphoria, as when he reached his century, it was pretty much confirmed that Aus couldn't win the game. What a rollercoaster.

And why is that OTT? Indian team has been blessed with some exceptionally great batsmen the past two decades and there are too many innings in my memory that count in those 2 eras. I thought this thread was about innings one found memorable. I found all of these memorable.....

At least my post is not a culmination of your OTT fight with Tac over who bitched what to who from whose email id running over a dozen threads all month long.....

My favourites I meant and not memorable. Missed being politically correct by not saying 'favourite'.
But the thread does not say merely favourite and says favourite(s) as well which means a list like mine is in the line.

Whichever way I see it, they are all my favourites. But perhaps theones are the ones of Azhar and Laxman could be more closer.

That said, truth be told, I am not really in a position to choose one over other in that least honestly.

Among ones that have my respect from opposite camp, Hayden's big ones in 2001 against India, Gilchrist's big one against India at Mumbai, Jimmy Adams' brilliance in 1994 in India, Waugh's alst knock before retirement at Sydney, Langar and Gilchrist's succesful knocks against Pakistan [Akram's side] chasing 370 odd to win in Aus, Peiterson's Ashes winning knock off last test in 2005 come to my mind randomly.....

I could probably add a couple of knocks of Jayasurya, Aravinda, M. Waugh, Kirtsten and Afridi as well to that list of opposite teams.....

Not exactly favourites but brutally crushing and frustrating to watch from an Indian fan's POV....

Jimmy Adams' brilliance in 1994 in India

You'd have to be pretty perverted to have a knock by Jimmy Adams in your 'favourites' list.
