I PVR'd it the other day. Haven't watched it yet. Probably will at some time in the future.

I'm pretty sure they're on iplayer for anyone who has missed it (in the UK at least)

It's been repeated at least three times since it first aired earlier in the week. It's not like BBC 4 have much else on. Just wait a while and it'll come around again.

I watched it too.
I must've misheard but I'm sure that twice they referred to Herschell Gibbs as a black player.

Re: BBC Four - The Hansie Cronje Story
The Danny Devito lookalike leather jacket man was good value as loathsome characters go- apparently he just rang Hansie out of the blue, having never had any sort of contact with him before and after one phone call pursuaded him to engineer a result. It was pretty obvious there was so much more going on behind the scenes than has been revealed.
Guess everything in the documentary is public record but it didn't paint a vey sympathetic picture of the man- abusing a position of such importance to a country trying to unite itself after apartheid and manipulating younger players. Think he's lucky that he was white and christian (not to mention now dead) that his reputation isn't more tarnished.
The D'Oliveira doccy was a good one as well. Apparently Alec Bedser who was on the infamous selection committee subsequently gave his services to a PR organisation for Apartheid. Deary me.

Colin Cowdrey was shown in a very poor light as well.

Is this a new Dolly docu or the one from a few years ago? That one did draw a telling 1960's English cricket establishment picture.

More like drew a telling picture of general attitudes around the world at that time. Not just in cricket.

Please enlighten me: what is a "telling 1960's English cricket establishment picture" particularly in the context of Peter Oborne's biography of Basil D'Oliveira
