England v South Africa, 1st Test, Lord's 10-14 July
How long now? A week and a half? Close enough.
Duminy is playing in the tor match against Somerset. Anyone know if he's likely to start?
Likely England side:
Cook
Strauss
Vaughan (c)
KP
Bell
Collingwood
Ambrose +
Broad
Sidebottom
Anderson
Panesar
I don't know if Fred and SiJo are "in the mix" or not. Probably a bit soon for them.

This doesn't look very official.

If the first choice SAf bowling attack plays, I don't see them losing.

Gash.... 0-1
SA always win at Lords, go 1-0 up and then stuff it up.
Not confident of the last part this time around unforch.

Duminy is only playing in the tour game because Smith is injured. He's unlikely to start in the Test. Having said that, he is currently showing his class while Neil McKenzie was out first ball to the geriatric Andrew Caddick.

Duminy has a first class average of over 50, is very young and always looks classy. Shouldn't be long until he secures a test place. Amla's just bagged a ton.

Is that a Red post praising a Saffer I see?

I do rate young Duminy. Not all saffas are like the evil skipper.

Pietersen to flop spectacularly and England to lose 3-0 will be the stories of the series, I fear. Unless we can magic some decent batsman, bowlers and fielders out of somewhere in the next week and a bit, we're going to get absolutely munted. If England pick either of Bell or Collingwood on Thursday, I'm simply not going to bother. I'd love to see Anderson chucked out as well, but considering his destructive form against New Zealand, that's simply a pipe dream. It's a hope that lacks verisimilitude as opposed to the other which at least seems plausible insofar as they (Ian Bell and Paul Collingwood) are slightly likely to be dropped.

Can't see Pietersen flopping to be honest, he'll be seriously motivated for this series and he always tends to do better when he really wants it.

Has to be said this is an extremely poor standard of thread title - nothing like official at all....
We don't need the word 'official' in there for starters.

And *'s do seem a bit frivolous nowadays. Very unofficial.

I'm retro, man. I'm a rebel without a cause. I don't give a f*ck. I'm living on the edge. To quote Danny "I span the genres".

Amla and Kallis get big hundreds in the tour match. I don't think we should be too worried by that though - Somerset's attack is piss-poor.

Only because Dello's "the man". He's stuck in his ways. He's Bob Dylan's Mr Jones. He can't innovate, he can't move with the times. He wants to control your minds maaaaan. I'm basically the metaphorical Emmanuel Goldstein to Dello's metaphorical Big Bro. Stick it to him. Stick it to the man.

Goldstein, as hinted strongly by whatever his name is (O'Brien?), appears to have been a construct of "The Party", and thus is answerable to Big Brother, insofar as Big Brother is/was even real. Are you therefore admitting to being Dello's love-child?

I knew someone would pick me up on that. I also expected "You like sticking it into men?" from some Aussie too. Goldstein had pretty questionable demands even if he did exist. So even the symbol of hope may have represented totalitarianism. Yeah, it's a pretty cheery book.
But no, to answer your question - I'm not Dello's lovechild. It's a well known fact that Dello's a disabled eunuch.

He got hit on the elbow whilst batting.
Andy Caddick was the bowler so you could not imagine there being too much damage
