Shoaib Akhtar
His 18 month ban has been over turned and will only be fined.
Just thought you might like to know that.
Or maybe not.

Re: Shoaib Akhtar
Good. It was a ridiculous ban. It's taken the PCB god knows how long to do what they should have done straight away - give him a fine and a telling off.

Glad as I am that he's got off, I wonder why they even bother with a ban.

Aye ... seems they like cogitating for lengthy spells - having missed a trick at the Oval 2 years ago in getting the match declared a draw
rather than pussying around insisting that an umpire be declared a racist.
Priorities FFS!

er....why? The world of cricket is better of without him, Pakistan gaining the most benefit from his absence.

I don't know, criticising the PCB (and let's face it, they aren't really doodh ka dhula), doesn't strike me as having grounds for punishment, let alone a 5 year ban.

The PCB can now have some real fun, because with B-Grade eligible for selection, they don't actually have to pick him...

Pass. Have to wait for one of the Pakistani experts to tear themselves away from the incredibly important Asia Cup. They might know.

It's a good way of doing an anti-Smith campaign. Just subtly lobbing in a pic or two of Minki and thinking WTF was he doing.
I'm not inclined to agree with Redrob. I think she had some problems with her pie.

Re: Shoaib Akhtar
I hope they don't pick him or Asif for the CT.
I love his bowling and also think that at his best he is the biggest asset to the PAK team but he is simply not sane enough to play for PAK(not yet anyways). They should lift his ban from domestic cricket but keep him away from international cricket until he proves that he is not a moron any more.

Re: Shoaib Akhtar
Shaoib is yet another bowler who looked like he could become an All Time Great when he first started but has not gone on with it. The last 10 years have been frustrating in this sense.
I suppose test batsmen are quite happy in this development but Test Cricket has lost some of its attraction as a result.

Re: Shoaib Akhtar
Thats because he wasn't given a chance to bowl in the middle and had spent the previous 2 months in the court. The One wrote:at this moment in time he doesnt seem too fit either. he couldnt make it through the ipl, cant imagine him making it through a test or odi series
Gul and Asif are as injury prone than Akhtar and they are a good 10 mph slower and about 10 years younger so his fitness is NOT an issue. The main issue is his moronic attitude.

i am not talking about his injuries, but his basic fitness. he was huffing and puffing like a 70 year old heart patient after 2 overs. cant see him lasting too long
