There is a State election on today in Western Australia. The incumbent govt are the Labor Party (Westie pinkos). The people who would like to take over are the Liberal Party but recently lost their leader because he owned up to sniffing the chair of a female pollie after she rose and left.

Apparently polling says it will be close.

Why the hell would you own up to chair sniffing unless someone had it on film!?

Apparently he tried to deny it but there was too much evidence and corroboration. In the end he owned up and tearfully resigned.

He sniffed the seat and left lots of evidence? Politicians should be more discreet! Still, I'd be happy if sniffing seats was the worst thing our president-to-be was suspected of.

Erm, there were too many people who bore witness to his seat sniffing. So he was unable to successfully deny that he did the deed.

If he did it in full view of lots of people, he's certainly too dumb to be in politics, where the electorate is screwed much more subtly.

mynah, these dicks thrive on ego. They do these things to big themselves up. He was guilty, many witnesses said he was guilty, he paid the price for being an egotistical smart arse. Good riddance.

Seems it could be hung Parliament. Ironically the Libs now need the Nationals to side with them to form a coalition govt.

I seem to remember W.A. having a dabble at mandatory sentencing a few years back. How many months in jail would you have got for seat sniffing?

Sorry for late reply ... have been away this weekend ...preparation for this cricket season

Buswell is an idiot when drunk ...the chair sniffing incident has been distorted way beyond what it actually was ...Buswell did survive as leader initially ...mainly because he is a pretty good politician ...however Lib polling showed he couldnt be elected as Premier ...Colin Barnett was planning on retiring at this election (which is supposed to be sometime next year) however Buswell convinced him he would step down and Barnett should lead the Libs at the next election ...a day after this happened Carpenter called an early election (right in the middle of the Olympics) ...

The ALP was a lazy govt... mostly because the opposition were shit and in disarray ...since the last election ( won by Gallop who resigned when he got beaten by depression) the Libs have had Barnett , Birney , Omodei , Buswell and Barnett as leaders ...all have had problems ...

Carpenter has had trouble with "Burke" , corruption , general incompetence and laziness ...

Carps got burnt yesterday at the polls ...Grylls (Nats) has a portion of the balance of power ...however I cant see his threat to join a coalition with the ALP going any further than just being a threat ...

I note you say "the ALP WAS a lazy govt". So you reckon the Libs/Nats coalition is a goer? And I agree, no way would the Nats ever go into coalition with the pinkos.
