Aye. As soon as I saw the thread title, I thought "Caps Lock". I'll be working away & accidently brush the key very lightly. Next thing I find I have written half a page in capitals. At times in the past I have removed the key & smashed it to pieces with a large hammer. I hate the thing.

I gather you two don't have an Apple. The most annoying key on their keyboards is actually the MISSING "Delete" key. You have to go CTRL-Backspace.

Insert is harmless, whereas caps lock can do damage considering its proximity to some oft used letters.

Insert is not harmless. Many time I have knocked it accidently and it completely screws up my typing later on. I disagree most strongly with your assertion that it is harmless. Caps lock at least has a warning light. Insert does not.

I have no damned light that lights up indicating that the caps lock key is active (or not).
Maybe Japanese laptops don't have this farking light ....

I agree Insert is a more annoying function.

In Word, it does light up telling you it's on though.

Personally I hate the fact that the semi-colon key (; ) and the apostrophe key (') are beside each other, cos I farkin always get the ; where the ' should be - as in "can;t" instead of "can't".

Surely the most annoying key is the one horace uses to send his bile onto the forum
