Do the Aus players have any chance to play some domestic cricket in home conditions before this test starts? Even if they don't, they should still win it.

Ponting evidently can't wait for this match......

Possible Aus team-

Katich
Hayden
Ponting(c)
M.Hussey
Clarke
Watson
Haddin+
Lee
Johnson
Krejza
Clark

Possible NZ team-

Redmond
How
Ryder
Taylor
Fulton
Flynn
McCullum+
Vettori(c)
Mills
Southee
O'Brien

Ryder and Taylor have a lot of talent. More than most other Kiwi bats in the last 5 years.

How has a bit of a backbone and then there's 3 hit-or-miss players backed up by Super Vettori. Not good.

Southee will be key on this tour I reckon.

Once he finds his line and length and possibly some swing, he'll be in business!

A report in the rags today suggested Token wasn't going to be picked for Friday's rubbish cricket match until Hopes pulled up with an injury. Have to think he won't be in contention for the Test team then...

I wouldn't consider state form for Token, his record for Queensland is well below his record for Australia. He has some similarities to TGM, actually - keeps landing himself in trouble off the field, an average performer at state level and shines on the biggest stage.

Smart work Roscoe.

He has just said the domestic pitches are not up to his liking.
He has a lot going for him ie. public support, penance served and home town venue plus the team needs a spark. I think he'll play.

Squad Matthew Hayden, Simon Katich, Ricky Ponting (capt), Michael Hussey, Michael Clarke, Andrew Symonds, Shane Watson, Brad Haddin (wk), Jason Krejza, Brett Lee, Mitchell Johnson, Stuart Clark, Peter Siddle.
Typical of them to drop a Vic who has averaged over 50 with the bat in his last couple of Tests.

Except that said Vomit was allegedly picked primarily as a bowler. They'll probably recall him when Pup fails to recover from Delhi belly, a like for like replacement.
