FFS...Another Terrorist Attack in Mumbai!!!!

Latest: the terrorist jsut blew up a petrol bunk with a rocket launcher at a south Mumbai loacation as per Headlines TV report.

Can't bring myself to believe this is happening in Bombay.

Surely the Champions League will be placed in jeopardy.

It is still exploding right, left and centre on top of the Taj Hotel in Mumbai.

a few of them. most of the targets were ordinary citizens in stations, hospitals, streets, bars. the worst possible was the storming of a hospital for women and children

BCCI are trying to relocate to Bangalore.

Middlesex have cancelled their flight out - they were due to be staying in the Taj, as were England for the scheduled 2nd Test.

All pretty irrelevant given the situation people in the midst of it right now are facing, however.

the long term impact is indeed grave for the world-wide fight against terrorism. this attack used no bombs, only machine guns and small hand grenades. more importantly it involved at least two dozen young boys willing to die for their cause and firing indiscriminately at anyone in their path attacking multiple targets at the same time in the same city

i can imagine intelligence agencies world-wide going in a tizzy. its much harder to control and prevent than bomb blasts

and make no mistake about it, this is india's 9/11. if india does not get serious about terrorism and tackling it after this, it never will

apparently a few of his family members live around that area and he has NOT been able to speak to them yet.

Just seen the TV reports - terrible stuff.

I guess Indian special forces will be preping given they've already killed people.

that is basically economic warfare.
they want to create the image that the country is as unsafe for westerners like certain others in the region.

but frankly westerners are not our priority right now.
there is also news breaking out by the state's home minister that the terrorists came by sea and docked their boats at the 'Gateway of India'.

these boats are still lying there and are believed to be carrying explosives.
possibility of them also being rigged can not be ruled out.

I just got off the phone. Couple of guys I haven't managed to contact. One guy was in Taj when it happened; another was hanging in the Colaba region.

Quick picture from the way these guys describe it (all journalists):

Mumbai is like NY in terms of it's attitudes, contribution to business and general worldview. Now imagine a war torn city in some African country; gunmen roaming the streets, panic, random shooting, blasts. A picture of hell. Apparently Mumbai was like that yesterday.
