Looks like it. If so great memories. Can't think of a worst inglorious exit of such a great player in which case. At the moment it is difficult to even imagine he will play the next test let alone the next series.....

Your problem is that you try to read some ulterior motive into any time I allude to a saffa cricketer however obliquely the reference is made. Another interpretation might be that it's vaguely interesting that two of the recent batting bedrocks have had exceedingly and uncharacteristically lean years.

he doesn't need to retire, just needs some "rest" from international cricket.

If he makes some big runs in domestic cricket then bring him back for the tour of NZ(they aren't coming to PAK)

he's 36 in a few weeks - dont think the whole take time out then come back to the playing 11 will work.

He has an outstanding technique(perhaps the best since Sunil) so if he gets a bit of confidence back(by scoring big 100s in Ranji) then i reckon he can go on for another year and a half.

He's playing against exactly the right team to reverse his slump, though.

Hopefully Dravid will make a decent score in the next innings, but at the moment he looks like a man who is lost in the jungle of low confidence.

He needs some serious inspiration when India bat again. That being said, he'll be under alot of pressure if the pitch begins to turn and Monty and Desperate Dan are able to get men around the bat, depending on Englands performance in the second innings.

Bell and Collingwood need runs and Cook is due for a century in this series.

Match practice isn't the problem. You play Dravid in Ranji, he will score runs.
