Monty Panesar was dire in the Indian second innings, and they now must seriously be considering giving Rashid a run.
Also, Ian Bell will SURELY be dropped for Owais Shah. And Shah MUST now be given the whole of the Windies series as well to cement his spot at number 3.

Shah for ball-less Bell at #3 (bats at 3 for Mddsx) ... drop KP to the 4 spot (take some pressure off him)... can't switch Fred with Prior - (nose outta joint and would just piss-off the big fella) ... Broad for Jimmikins (can't do any worse!) ...
Then infuse the Indian team's curry at their pre-match meeting with a serious dose of laxatives, and pray it works.

I've got a sickening feeling that they'll give Bell another chance.

Yes he does, but the thinking by some on here is that with Bell out and Shah in, KP ought to step up to #3.The One wrote:Merlin wrote:drop KP to the 4 spot (take some pressure off him)

Wrong IMHO ... he's under pressure right now, so KP ought to let the new boy take some of the chin music
before he has to come in!
And Shah is well capable of doing that very thing ... certainly more so than Dingabell.

maybe shah can switch places with collingwood. shah at 5 sounds better than at 3. collingwood would probably be better suited for the number 3 spot as well

Shah has batted at three his entire life, whereas KP is clearly more comfortable at four or five.

Frankly, Shah would probably do a better job than Colly at #3. It's his natural spot.
Exposing Colly (the worst England starter) early to a new ball would be suicidal IMO.

The BCCI should buy out Flintoff as Yuvraj's personal mascot and have him sledge Yuvie during every game he plays.

I'd play the same team, with Laxman at 3. But doubt that's going to happen.
Mishra bowled well in the last match, though not as threatening as he was against the Aussies. Bhajji now is officially our batting all-rounder. Pretty happy with our bowlers.
Maybe Dhoni should employ the same tactics against Strauss as he did against Hussey and Katich. Strauss is similar to them, as he's limited in his scoring areas, and they could dry off the runs. Other than that, we should do well as long as we hold on to our catches.

Agree absolutely; and I have been a Bell fan (albeit lukewarm.) he has failed time after time despite his talent.Henry wrote:Also, Ian Bell will SURELY be dropped for Owais Shah. And Shah MUST now be given the whole of the Windies series as well to cement his spot at number 3.
Sadly I expect Bell to be given the opportunity to fark up another Test for England which is now strongly suggested by Andy Flower's latest utterings.

I thought the pitch at Mohali was seamer-friendly, in which case we have to ditch a spinner. Swanny gets my vote because he did ok at Chennai. OMFG, I suppose that means Amjad Khan gets to play in a test!

must admit the cricket highlight of the year was the 4th innings towelling given the poms by banindia...the great efforts by the banindian batsmen need to be put into perspective by the craven pomgolian bowling

The bowling was shoite! But it shouldn't detract from Tendulkar's knock. BCL could not have played that innings.
