Re: Greg Chappell is GSC. Dave Warner is GCS.
The newsclips of the game last night seemed to have an inordinate focus on Warner considering the bit part he played. The media has set him up for a fall.
Marsh batted relatively slowly yesterday but it's amazing to think that his old man's strikerate in ODIs was 55; probably a greater indicator than anything regarding the evolution of fifty over cricket.
White's bowling wasn't that flash, going for five an over when the two snails at the crease could hardly hit it off the square.

Why do you even want Hopes in the side? The guy is thoroughly pants.

Sage. If he's batting so low we'd be better off with a better bowler - of which there are plenty.

He's bound to make 80, opening, after the sage comments above.

I honestly think Ian Harvey was a better cricketer. At least Harvey had a knack of making things happen with bat, ball, or in the field. Hopes is just so average at every facet of the game.

Maybe. I think Harvey may have been a more 'explosive' cricketer on his (rare) day, but Hopes can be relied on to bowl 10 overs for less than 50, picking up one wicket or maybe two, and he usually makes around 15. He's like a typical Kiwi all-rounder, not really good at either discipline, but honest, and with a bit more shoulder than his Kiwi counterparts.

Mitchell Jophnson will probably replace him for the rest of the series now. Johnson is just as good a batsman as Hopes imo, and of course a far better bowler.

Hopefully they'll rest Johnson for a bit longer. Agree with everything you said about him, otherwise ... I think he's our all-rounder. Bye bye Brett Lee.

I believe there's a new prospect coming through schools cricket called Allan Nonnermus who could be the new Warner.

I think it's already been confirmed that Johnson will play in Sydney.

Ah. I'm surprised they're risking him in this series; he looked like he needed a long rest after the Third Test.

rather have someone average, than someone so inconsistent as Harvey. Huge underperformer.

Harvey could be relied on to disappoint time after time. He was utter utter sh1t when the big boys were playing.

Still a grade cricket slogger.
Or perhaps he's the new Pumpkinhead. A slogger who either gets lucky or gets out.
