Windies A v England, tour match Jan 29th - 31st
Windies A: Adrian Barath, Kieron Powell, Sewnarine Chattergoon, Lendl Simmons, Leon Johnson, Darren Sammy (capt), Devon Thomas (wk), Gavin Wallace, Kevin McClean, Amit Jaggernauth, Brandon Bess
England: Andrew Strauss (capt), Alastair Cook, Ian Bell, Kevin Pietersen, Paul Collingwood, Owais Shah, Matt Prior (wk), Graeme Swann, Ryan Sidebottom, James Anderson, Steve Harmison.
Should be a much better indication of the form of the England batsmen than the previous game, even if the Windies A side is depleted due to injuries to their two fastest bowlers. Brandon Bess is quick but extremely erratic so could be a real test or could go to the boundary at quite a rate. I'm really looking forward to seeing how Gavin Wallace the leggie and Amit Jaggernauth the offie go against a free scoring Pietersen.
I'm not sure about radio coverage, but I hope I can come up with something.

Cheers.
From an England perspective once again it's time in the middle and overs under the belt which are the most important thing.

Although the listing of Shah at six (basically where Flintoff would've played if he'd been fit, and where he will play in the first Test) and retention of Bell at three suggests that, in spite of his unbeaten hundred in the opening match, Shah is very much an outside shot at a place in the final XI.

Kevin McClean? related to Nixon?
Which 2 fast bowlers are injured?

Kemar Roach and Nelson Pascal, both 90 mph plus.
McClean is from Barbados and no related to Nixon. He is more of a swing bowler than an out and out pacer.

Will Roach be fit for the 1st test match?

Is Roach the boy that made his debut against the Aussies in a T20 match, i think?
Because he was very rapid!

Sounds like he might fly or scuttle in.
And be virtually indestructible, short of getting crushed with a heavy blow..

They're doing their best to facilitate Ian Bell MBE, as always. It reflects poorly on English cricket that such an average batsman is a - considered to be a prodigious talent and b - considered to be worth persevering with even when he doesn't score runs. Besides which, he doesn't score hundreds (at 3) and has ginger hair. Ace, meanwhile, is ****** off to the position where he can do the least damage...

And if he does score a double ton you can be safe in the knowledge he'll live off it for the rest of the series... big let down is Belly, because he does have the talent.

I view it the other way gents.
Good to see the little farkwit up top, means he's more chance of facing the new ball and getting fark all runs!
Well thats the way I am viewing it. Its safer that way for various members of the selection commitee, especially Pilo!
Must really cut you JK amongst others. A big kick in the nether regions after your whole hearted support for so long!

Meh, you can't win em all.... never professed to be a cricket genius though.
I've got Stuart Broad in my 'tout them to the world and watch them fail miserably list'...poor sod.

Aye, just poking...
Don't see him being anything other than overrated to be honest. Not like Bell, in that he just had no nuts, He has a huge amount about him, just don't think Broad has that nip required at Test level. Seems to bowl quite powder puff to me.

Well, I'd say as England haven't opted to have a look at Shah batting three, it seems highly unlikely that they're going to throw him in there in that position for the Tests.
Paper today said there were only two selectors on tour: Strauss and Andy Flower. It also said that Flower was a big Ian Bell supporter.
You do the math.

Yeah thats the one and he is rapid, just very inexperienced and currently injured. He is the best bet to replace Powell in the near future.

Apparently the score is 29/1 (Kieron Powell 14, Adrian Barath 14 not out)
