Nash
He's doing very well at the international level for a bloke who struggled for 5 seasons to score a regular gig with Queensland. I don't think he even bowled for Queensland, but he's a regular trundler now at Test level. Strange.

Re: Nash
Yep.
Both his batting and bowling look ideal when you're 'chasing' a draw on slow, low, flattish to roadish tracks.
Been ideal for the Windies in this series since Jamaica.

Re: Nash
So ffworwarding to May- there's a real chance there'll be the usual-"struggling with English conditions touring side? Have an absolute road and hundreds of hassle free runs and get yourself into form" pitch at Lords. So the result's goto to come at Chester Le Street. Hope it doesn't rain.
From previous series I wouldn't back Sarwan or Gayle to do even a fraction as well on lively decks, although Chanderpaul will still need dynamite to shift. Really hope the Aussie interloper gets found out as well.
Sunday night, illness and groundhig day test matches makes me a bit of a dull boy tonight.

A sticker. A grinder. A tapeworm.
A co-strangler of Test cricket.
Along with Cristle's captaincy, two sets of by-and-large very ordinary bowlers and three flattened roads.

Re: Nash
Nash did very well in NZ so I don't think swing or seam is his problem. He has had a few problems with the short ball in our domestic cricket. I doubt he is going to be a class test bat, but he is just what we need at number 6, someone who doesn't give his wicket away and will not leave Shiv stranded.
As for our side to tour England, I really hope they select Bravo Jr and Barath as they are the next step for our side's progression IMHO.
First xi to face England in May:
Gayle (c)
Barath
Sarwan
Simmonds
Shiv
Nash
Bravo Sr (vc)
Ramdin
Taylor
Benn (or a spinner)
Edwards
Reserves:
Bravo Jr
Ryan Hinds
A spinner (Shillingford, Jaggers, Wallace, Browne?)
Gavin Tonge
Ravi Rampaul

Yes and apparently he is good mates with Mitch Johnson who was his room-mate at Queensland.
Maybe he can get him to bowl 10 mph slower please

Is Nash averaging 50 at Test level the best example of flat tracks cheaping batting averages?

Quite possibly, though he has played 2 tests in NZ where the ball moved about a little bit. We shall see how he goes in England before making a judgement.

He's a poor man's Mike Hussey. Well actually, considering the form Hussey is in at the moment, he's probably a rich man's Hussey.

Your incisive commentary was noted.
Bit close to the bone; I have an assignation with the white-coated torturers on Monday. I'm busy studying the best response to 'Is It Safe?', just in case.

Ow!
The best response is usually given before they lodge several metallic/plastic implements in and around your oral area. Why DO they insist on pretending they can hold a conversation with you in that state (esp if also anaesthetised at the time)?
Thanks for filling me in btw
Is it wisdom teeth?

Cream tangerine, montelimar
A ginger sling with a pineapple heart.
Coffee dessert - yes you know it's good news
But you'll have to have them all pulled out
After the Savoy truffle.
Cool cherry cream, nice apple tart
I feel your taste all the time we're apart
Coconut fudge really blows down those blues (wuh)
But you'll have to have them all pulled out
After the Savoy truffle.
You might not feel it now
When the pain cuts through
You're gonna know and how.
The sweat it's gonna fill your head
When it becomes too much
You shout aloud.
But you'll have to have them all pulled out
After the Savoy truffle.
You know that what you eat you are
But what is sweet now turns so sour.
We all know ob-la-di 'b-la-da
But can you show me where you are?
