I suppose in theory Symonds might have bashed 250 in two sessions, with some support, and Queensland might then have bowled Victoria out for 80.

This way is more ruthless but less interesting.

I'm beginning to wonder if anyone will ever enforce the follow-on again.

They'r qunts. The Shield is set up to reward qunts. (pre 1995)

For the first fifty years only three teams played it and one of those was a tent city on a shithouse river.

Actually one of the others was built on a shithouse river too, but at least it gave a shithouse state built on a magnificent harbour some early bragging rights.

There was no final up until about 1982/83 ...most points during the year won the Shield

Cant remember any specific reason they changed it ... but there have been a couple of classic finals ...and some borefests too

the vomits had a good season but they have TAYPODGE and ShyT in their team so they deserve nothing ...this is counteracted by the fact they are coached by a wozzie and their two best batsman are wozzies ...

Sozzies ...CA's International scheduling that sees National players playing ZERO State cricket is a bonus for the Sozzies as they have no one good enough to be on International duties (except T20 Tait and he strengthens their Shield team when he is missing)
