Flintoff in for Harmy?

Doubt if they'll drop Batty for him - they probably still feel the need for a spinner

Sky had Flintoff down to replace either Batty OR...wait for it...Stuart Broad. Yes, our best ODI bowler of the last two years. Not Jimmy 'only just started taking wickets after a seven game hiatus' Anderson or Steve 'back in the game for the muthafugging money and nothing else' Harmison. But baby-faced Stuey.

Considering that Sky are usually a bit more insidey info-y than any of the other clueless qunts, it's very, very disturbing. Not that it should be anything like a choice between Batty and Broad, but FFS.

Well if the pitch is anything like the others we need a full attack (well, defence) of medium pacers. Forget pace, spin and attempting to actively take wickets, boring bowlers win you JAMODI's on slow pitches - batsmen will struggle to get them away, scratch around at a strike rate of 50 and eventually throw their wicket away to a desperate slog. Or maybe that's just our batsmen...

It might just be time for Broad to have a match off. He's been ever-present in the side all winter.

Yeah forget Broad & FatSam, instead we'll play Bage, Homesick & Gazza.

Great.

The only thing I can think of it that Stueykins is a bit knackered - he's put in some hard yards this winter.

Mental to go in without a spinner. Even if it's Batty. Taking the pace off the ball has been a solid tactic on these turgid wickets. It's not like they've got Fat Sam to do his best impression of a spinner, they'd be asking "The Pie in" Pietersen or Shah to do the spinning job if turns out (as it's bound to) they've totally misjudged the wicket.

Straight swap, Flintoff for Mascarenhas. Easy. Collingwood and Bopara can take over his dibbly-dobbly duties.

He's in the side because he once slogged some sixes.

Bowling is flith.

Batting is slogging.

England's limited overs matched on this tour: 0 x 6s. Mascarenhas' contribution to the team cause: 0, 0, 29 (1 x 4).

Waste of space. I'd rather have Luke Wright in the team.

Mental. Having your three best batsmen at 4, 5 and 6 and possibly only coming in with less than 20 overs left is no recipe for success.

Not that England are interested in any recipes for success.

Talking of mental. We've probably missed the trick of opening with Freddie - considering how hard he hits the ball and with the field in I've always though it would've been worth a shot.

obviously not now, considering he bats with a stick of Rhubarb these days.

Knowing England's batting, they will probably be coming in with 35 or 40 overs to go. Really the batting order should be adjusted according to how the game is going. Pietersen has scored the most hundreds batting at 5 with a s/r of 99.0 and an average of 116.33, the further up the order he is the more cautious so I would swop him and Shah. Very Happy

He'd be worth a go as an opener in the 20/20 bunfight.

If they're gonna rest Broad then i'd bring in Rashid. I'd also play Amjad over Harmison. At least we might learn something more about him. His test debut wasn't spectacular, but I don't think it was as rubbish a lot of people on here said it was. He did get a hint of reverse at around 85-87mph. He should be given a couple of jamodis. Who cares about his list A record. Harmi's is hardly spectacular, either.
