In the absence of the "Leeeeeg 09" thread, presumably because skully and JGK got sick and tired of pointing out how shithouse they are at tipping, I offer this comment on the Leeeeg ANZAC match currently taking place.

I am not a rabid patriot or in any sense jingoistic, but Channel Nein played this game up by flagrantly trading on the (somewhat misleading) ANZAC tradition.

So what do they do pre-match. Have a shitload of ADF personnel there and a cute (in a homely sort of way) female soldier with a great voice sing the National Anthem. ( So far so good)

Halfway through it they pan to a crowd shot and instead of people actually making an effort to mime the words they don't know (which is alright the anthem's a joke anyway) what do they do.

You guessed it. Zeroed in a drop dead gorgeous blonde with big tits. And to make matters worse she was in a St George jersey.

Kind of sums up league.

I was at the game and can confirm that the fact that they landed on a blonde with big cans was probably just a law of averages thing given the number of chicks with big cans there today.

It was a bit day for us - took BabyKv1 to his first Leeege match.

What had he done done wrong to deserve that punishment?

On the cans thing, my point was there must have been someone in the ground without great cans and more in keeping with the occasion they could have focused on.

Unless you're totally innocent then they swoop like farking vultures. I once took qmyjr to the clinic and whilst there he threw a temper tantrum. I just looked at him said "Shut up or I'll shake you like a British Nanny". I got a farking knock on the door the next day. Though I suspect there was an element of payback to it.

I once got a health worker removed from an Aboriginal community for trying to remove an 'at risk' kid. (It was mainly bluff I had no legal authority whatsoever).

Most kids on Aboriginal communities are at risk and probably should be removed (you didn't hear it here), as should white kids left in the car park at Crown Casino whilst Mummy sticks the family tax benefit money into the pokies.

My problem was not with what she was trying to do but how she went about it.

qmy to Cassie after lunch just after she'd skulled the gatorade I gave her heavily laced with a laxitive: "Hey Cassie gotta fly to x outstaion wanna have a look."

Cassie: "Yeah that would be supercool."

qmy to pilot, a good mate: "How badly can you abuse this plane before they yank your license?"

Pilot: "Not much in the way of air traffic control here. How bad."

qmy: "I'll pay to clean the plane."

Never saw her again after that.

Sounds like BS to me. Chardonnay Socialists are pretty solidly against removing children from aboriginal communities in even the most compelling circumstances.

It ain't BS and the chardonnay socialist comment was in regards to the fact that she carried on a year later like she knew what was best "'coz that was what the anthropogy professor at Uni told me".

It had nothing to do with her original actions which, as I have pointed out were legally correct. But telling an old Aboriginal lady ( in this case the Grandmother), who was doing her best to raise the kids in abhorrent circumstances, that she was "from the government and I'm here to take your kids" is probably akin to crossing the railroad tracks in Selma with a piece of rope.

She was incorrectly dressed and was in the process of dressing down an old stockman for referring to a long dead Aboriginal woman as a "gin".

I wouldn't use the language myself but he was a product of his times, had seen his sister smashed against a tree on a punitive raid (yes he was that old) and the word was a perfectly accepted way of describing an Aboriginal woman in his universe.

She freaked out and almost flushed an incredibly expensive and time consuming meeting down the drain.

It took all my patience not to turf turf the silly bitch out of the plane.
