Pakistan threatens terror strikes on WC hosts
Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Ejaz Butt has accused the ICC [Images] and the BCCI of treating them as beggars and threatened dire consequences if they are not allowed to host 2011 World Cup matches.

No, they just mean they'll vote for the side with cricket as it's main interest. Rather than India.
Re: Pakistan threatens terror strikes on WC hosts
I'm sick of Pakistan. Their culture of blame means they are constantly going round in circles. Not just in cricket, but in the country as a whole. FFS, look at YOURSELVES, rather than looking to point the finger of blame at everyone else. Then maybe you will gain some credibility again.

Henry,
you are sounding quite ignorant these days. First you started supporting the drone attacks on Pakistan while totally ignoring the # of soldiers killed in the war and now this.
At the this rate with in 6 months you will be on the buckwas bandwagon

lets face it...
Buck WANTS to see another Mumbai like attack so he can carry on with his hideous agenda and keep sweeping the Kashmir issue under the carpet. There is absolutely no other reason why he would totally twist something like this in to a "terror threat"

When a Pakistani, holding whatever position, talks about 'dire consequences', it could only mean a 'terror attack'.
sufficient hints have been thrown in as well:
"The 2011 World Cup could come under heavy cloud if its host status is not restored," Butt said in an interview to 'News24' channel.
He also said that security situation in India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh is volatile and the ICC was unfair in stripping them off the hosting rights.
How else can a WC come under a 'heavy cloud' ? Who is going to miss pakistan's participation ? What other 'dire' consequences will occur financially to hosts or ICC ?

The only sweeping and covering that happens is in PoK with terrorists camps running round the clock. You can talk about J&K only after you have cleaned up the messes in Sindh, NWFP, Baluchistan etc. There is NO issue save the one that exists deviously in Pak establishment's mind and intentions. You find it difficult to keep politics out of your own posts and then expect others to keep it out yaar....

Re: Pakistan threatens terror strikes on WC hosts
Obama and Hillary Clinton are about the only people on earth who still believe in Pakistan's credibility. Even the Pakistani academia is loath to believe anything that comes out of Zardari's mouth. One thing goes without saying; India will have to be on its toes during the WC. The BCCI should refrain from ever entering a joint cricket venture with Pakistan again. It would seem the PCB has now been infested with the LeT and/or its Hydra existence. I mean, how childish is it to expect help from a country whose cricketers you just tried to annihilate?

Why did the drone attacks happen? Because Pakistan was doing f*ck all about the problems coming from the west (Afghanistan). Instead they chose to divert attention and whine on about the supposed threat from the east (India) but that's just sooooo 1998. Pakistan's isolation from the rest of the world is almost complete, and instead of doing something about it, all we get is meaningless rants trying to point the blame at someone else. Pull your finger out, accept responsibility and accountability, and work together to move forward. Otherwise, you're f*cked, and you'll have US and allied forces marching into Islamabad by 2011. Oh yeah, and no world cup either.

There you go again with your ignorance....so killing 700 civilians and 14 terrorists solved the problem??
Can you tell me how many Pakistani soliders and civilians have died in this so called war against terror.
How much more can Pakistan do?
May be you should read this because your posts sound more and more naive with each passing day
‘We can point fingers at the Pakistanis. I did some yesterday frankly. And itâ€s merited because we are wondering why they just donâ€t go out there and deal with these people,†said Mrs Clinton while referring to an earlier hearing in which she said that Pakistan posed a ‘mortal threat†to the world.
‘But the problems we face now to some extent we have to take responsibility for, having contributed to it. We also have a history of kind of moving in and out of Pakistan,†she said.
‘Letâ€s remember here… the people we are fighting today we funded them twenty years ago… and we did it because we were locked in a struggle with the Soviet Union.â€
‘They invaded Afghanistan… and we did not want to see them control Central Asia and we went to work… and it was President Reagan in partnership with Congress led by Democrats who said you know what it sounds like a pretty good idea… letâ€s deal with the ISI and the Pakistan military and letâ€s go recruit these mujahideen.â€
‘And great, let them come from Saudi Arabia and other countries, importing their Wahabi brand of Islam so that we can go beat the Soviet Union.â€
‘And guess what … they (Soviets) retreated … they lost billions of dollars and it led to the collapse of the Soviet Union.â€
‘So there is a very strong argument which is… it wasnâ€t a bad investment in terms of Soviet Union but letâ€s be careful with what we sow… because we will harvest.â€
‘So we then left Pakistan … We said okay fine you deal with the Stingers that we left all over your country… you deal with the mines that are along the border and… by the way we donâ€t want to have anything to do with you… in fact weâ€re sanctioning you… So we stopped dealing with the Pakistani military and with ISI and we now are making up for a lot of lost time.â€

umm yeah those 1000s upon 1000s on the streets are all PoK terrorists....even some of the Indian journalists are starting to write about the Kashmir problem which is exactly why others are desperately trying to sweep it all under the carpet.

Re: Pakistan threatens terror strikes on WC hosts
Some of the Indian posters are really starting to piss me off with their blood thirsty attitude.
1- They want their 700k soliders in Kashmir and think Kashmir is "no issue"
2- They fully supported the invasion of Gaza and haven't said any thing against the war crimes commited by " Israel" on the Gazans.
3- They are ok with the happenings in the West Bank(even there "Israel" is innocent)
4- They are even "ok" with the genocide in Iraq.
5- They fully support the drone attacks on Pakistan when its clear that its creating even more terrorists.
6- They want the Pakistani military to pound the northern areas until the cows come home...
You lot need to stop trying to act so damn cool.

Re: Pakistan threatens terror strikes on WC hosts
You are losing the plot PP.
The country that is going backwards is Pakistan and it is in their interest to fix things instead of talking about what happened 20 years ago, 60 years ago etc.
If you go back far enough there was no Islam and Afghanistan / Pakistan were all part of the Hindu spread. So History does not really help when it comes to fixing the present.
The CIA was instrumental for the Taliban. True, but it was only possible because of ISI and other elements in Pakistan who could be hijakced in the name fo Islam or on the back of their personal gains or Anti India stance.
To me Kashmir is a tool that was used effectively by Pakistan to unite their divisions against a "portrayed common enemy". That was never going to work in the long run and what we see now is that things are coming apart at the seams.
Forget standing for Islam, liberating muslims etc. and rebuild a Pakistan on fundamental human values. Only that can sustain a Country in the long run.

This article provides a good analysis on why Pakistan finds itself in the situation it is in today. The scary thing for me is the last paragraph which talks about Pakistan's future journey before it can go the mend. Obviously that is subject to the big assumption that it will stay in one piece that long.

Expecting that from a rogue region like Pak, forget it.Pull your finger out, accept responsibility and accountability, and work together to move forward.
Its high time Pak be declared as terrorist nation. What more proof does UN want?
While Obama has his head buried deep in sand, India can't do that considering that World's leading terror factory is in its neighborhood only.
