Re: The new look Cricinfo
The poor lad spends quite a deal of time on the road travelling to his next job. Hence T'internet ain't available, and his boss is too cheap to spring for a Net-connected phone. So ABC Radio is his lifeline to his beloved cricket.

Farq. Between 702, 774 and 612, there's usually enough staticky AM signal to hear the cricket. Especially if he's not in towns during the quntry hour.

With the (slow) emergence of digital radio, we'll hopefully get a "Grandstand" channel in years to come.
That way ABC Local Radio can continue on as normal while the majority of listeners switch over to the dedicated sports channel.

Hope springs eternal, Hass.
The govt gave nothing for extra digital radio services in the budget this year, though.

Exactly my point Pete, you have to refresh constantly and even then it's very erratic and really is totally unreliable.

I mean we all know the price of wethers and calves is much more rivetting listening than the 2nd hour of the opening session of a home Ashes series.Bradman wrote:I wasn't knocking it. Without the ABC the bush would've been farked for outside news.
I was making a comment on that I didn't need gee whiz technology to get my fix of cricket, and then bitch about the limitations of it.
I still use a portable radio in the summer and I get the score before anyone using dicinfo.
It can be skulls for those people whose livelihood depends upon it. Still it's quirky, I love quirky. Having the cricket interrupted for the Country Hour or a the fifth at Randwick was a rite of passage. Plus it let you know whether you should bother going into town to collect.

Seem's like a much simpler format compared to Cricinfo's hub of technology.

I gave them feedback.
Suddenly it was fixed.
Coincidence?
Probably...
Re: The new look Cricinfo
Maybe Cricinfo should give you feedback Dello.
The material on their site is usually stolen from a Red thread or two.
