Michael Slater commenting on people's states of mind.
It'd be funny if it wasn't so sad.

Re: Will more people follow the Symonds way ?
My question was more about the "national representation" aspect being pushed down the list of priorities ?

Symonds feels "let down" by CA over the monkey gate saga ...any wonder why he couldn't GAF about playing for them ...
...as for "massive distractions" do they come any bigger than someone failing a drug test on the eve of the Gilly ...and how did the team respond to that ...Slater should learn to STFU because he only knows how to dribble shit

Sage. Let's face it why would you bother putting up with shit from CA, the ICC and the BCCI if you could make a fortune without them.
Don't wanna see him near the national team ever again but just hope he gets on with his life.

Anyone with half an ounce of mental strength, and a wilingness to forgive and forget, would have got on with life after the 'monkeygate' affair. Symonds just couldn't let it go.

More of an affair than a saga, MB............whatever.embee wrote:Symonds feels "let down" by CA over the monkey gate saga ...any wonder why he couldn't GAF about playing for them ...
How often have you guys preached to the world to get on with it?
FWIW, I think Australian cricket is better off without him in the long run.

Re: Will more people follow the Symonds way ?
He'll probably settle in Gloucestershire, play cricket and cheese-rolling for the county, marry a local farmers daughter, have 7 kids and subsequently qualify for England. He will then enter The Priory Clinic for 2 months (mainly to get away from the wife and 7 kids) and come out healed, rehabbed and foresaken of the drink.
You wait and see ... he'll be the "new Botham" against the Aussies in Ashes '13, singlehandedly retaining the urn for England.
You heard it here first.

That preaching is for abuse allowed under the Code of Conduct ...not racial slurs

And roll up for England.
Fixed.

Re: Will more people follow the Symonds way ?
Monkeygate was an allegation made by a player who is a drunk and has been proven to be mentally unstable needing psychiatric help, lacking discipline and creating tensions within his own camp. Not saying that Bhaji is an angel but the fact is that a Kiwi judge heard the case and decided otherwise.
I find it hypocritical to be talking still about Monkeygate in view of what is going on with respect to the Indian students. Again not saying that all of these attacks are racial but there are atleast some as admitted by many top officials.

Sorry Josh, I'm just reeling from reading the United States Election thread.

Josh
His drinking and mental instability have escalated after monkeygate (and are more to do with how CA responded on his behalf than the slur) .The allegation was backed by some of Symonds' team mates and Bhajji admitted to a slur .
The judge heard the facts as the CA lawyer advised Symonds to tell them ...taking the racial aspect away ...and got crucified by the judge because of it
The attacks on students are stupid
