A 150-run partnership between Khurram Manzoor and Mohammad Yousuf. Must be a dead pitch. Lankans clearly missing Muralidharan. Mendes has lost his novelty and even on home wickets shows he was nothing more then that - at least to the sub-continental teams. Vaas’ retirement is timely, I guess.

Huge mistake to bowl first on this track. Even bigger mistake is to play 4-seam attack.
Last time they did this was against India in '01 at Kandy and lost. Ganguly probably played his most important test innings in the 4th innings of that test.

More a swan song for Vaas, but you're right. 4-pronged pace attack in SL, who'd have thought that was possible? Might as well have called in Fernando for his swan song as well.

Pak lost 5 wickets in the last session. Thats 5th consecutive time in this series that they've lost so many wickets in a hurry.
MoYo's run out was simply comical. Got to be laziest runner ever in Pak cricket alongside legendary Inzi. Now that says something about his running.

Pak lose 2 more wickets by adding 1 more to their overnight total.

SL lose a wicket off the first ball.
I see that the Pakistan tail wagged in this test - they only lost 8/96.

They clearly don't have as much confidence in his batting as Essex

132 runs came in the final session off 31 overs. An excellent stand between Malik and Akmal, and even though they had moments of fortune - Malik survived a missed stumping and Akmal was dropped in the deep - the damage, more or less, had already been done. The manner in which the two batted in the last session marked a contrast to the grind towards the latter half of the first session and the early part of the second.

Thank you for the missed stumping Sanga 366 lead with 5 wkts remaining, hope Pakistan don't self-destruct, allowing the Lankans to score big and win.

Isn't Sanga just playing as a batsman these days?

Yeah - I thought Dilshan was the keeper. What happened to the other Jayawardene?

Critical partnership now for Lankans. 2 for 150-odd with Sanga and Jaya at the wicket.
If these two can still be together at Stumps, who knows what might happen.

Hmm, nice woof on my part. Jaya must've got out an over or two after I posted. Seems to be having a trot at the moment.
With Dilshan unlikely to bat, seems the Lankans are r00ted.

Sanga absolutely reeks of class, though. Best batsman in the world, imo.

I may to have to eat my words, but surely, Pak attack isn't that bad to let SL score 230-odd in last 2 sessions of a test match.

Re: Sri Lanka v Pakistan, 3rd Test, Colombo, July 20-24
cant see them winning it. draw at best
they would want to leave any sort of charge only for the last session. another 80-90 runs at best in the post-lunch session would mean 140-150 in the last with at best 5-7 wickets in hand. not happening
